I have a mate that wants to come I can pay the sarvo or is it deffently not going ahead ?

burcoty
14th May 2013, 09:18 AM
Im happy to chip another 100 towards this but unfortunately atm that's all I can afford.
Not even sure if ima make it yet, will really be a last minute thing for me if I can..
Between Matt, Bert's mate and myself that only leaves $400 remaining to split between the other 14 drivers... ?

Matt
14th May 2013, 09:30 AM
We all want this to run... and cancelling is the last resort.

sundee
14th May 2013, 10:31 AM
Ok... So I'm absolutely gutted that its all come to this.
I had a good think last night while staring at my bedroom roof..

If all entrants agree to give up their portion which was going towards food,
Everyone would only need to chip in $30 each.

This is the absolute cheapest option.

Thanks to the guys who offered up more then what anyone should pay.
I think if we do this, it's affordable for everyone involved and its not really an expense rather then pocket change.

Again, post your thoughts, I'm just waiting to hear back from Raleigh about it as well.
Maybe they will be lenient on us ;)

meadan
14th May 2013, 10:46 AM
Ill pay $100 to come spectate/passenger/help out.

Can transfer it right now if it will help keep it alive?

The registration page doesnt work for me though?

Matt
14th May 2013, 04:31 PM
Ok we are good to go...

Extra payment will be required, but not a huge amount.

Enjoy guys!

14th May 2013, 05:23 PM

re; Joel - So, do we bring our own food now?

jay70
14th May 2013, 06:42 PM
neither of my cars are ready ): anyone heading from qld is welcome to borrow my trailer if needed. just don't break it

sundee
14th May 2013, 06:58 PM
I have only heard back from about 4 guys about this last option.
I really need to get the "ok" from everyone.
I'm leaving it till tonight.. I can't leave it go any longer, Raleigh needs to know what we are doing.
Ill even take into account the money's guys have put up if I don't hear back from many ( which to be honest I bet I don't)
And see where we are at... I reckon it's still going to be short.
There are 3 guys out of the 16 who want a refund. But I won't have guys like that who can't get their shit together ruin it for the committed .

Bert70
14th May 2013, 07:12 PM
I'm happy to put in the extra

burcoty
14th May 2013, 07:25 PM

sundee
14th May 2013, 10:53 PM
We have had a few amongst us offer to put in money to make this go ahead.
i have had 2 more drivers rego but no payment yet.
and from what i have heard, a few more are meant to be jumping on board.
SO fingers crossed we will not need to use the money from some generous blokes!

SO in saying that, im very happy to say that this event WILL be going ahead.

To those who have offered cash to keep this event alive, stand by... if we get the numbers by the event, then we wont need to utilize those funds.
you know who you are, and id just like to say thanks to all of you.
we are talking big money guys.. up to $500 from 1 person and they are not even attending the event!
so get on board, lets grow this event to be one awesome Drift Festival!!

Michael - no worries, just sort it out when you and your fam get their.

maxhag
15th May 2013, 12:08 AM
^^ Thats really good to hear Joel..... And yeah, there are some really good blokes in this community.

I will just mention, everyone should appreciate the efforts made by Joel to run the event..... In theory, it sounds somewhat easy to get an event up and running, but believe me, I've looked into it a few times, and it's alot responsibility/time/money to have carrying on your shoulders.....
Thanks bud......
Are you driving this time?

sundee
15th May 2013, 12:28 AM
Thanks for your comments JoJo...and your dead right, its not an easy thing to do.
might get a few laps in... just depends on how much help ive got..

speaking of... anyone who is willing to give a hand to marshal thought sat and sun, let me know.
if we can get a few guys then we can split it up

15th May 2013, 03:18 PM
to add a bit more vibe to this event, i have managed to organise some Prizes.
Ichiban Imports have got on board and will be supplying 3 x prize packs ( contents TBC )

We will be running a Big entry comp some time during the day, with prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd.

also pending on email replies. we might have comp ran for best Link up between the sweeper and turn 5. (joJo's corner) ;)
This would be ran over the whole weekend, and pending donations, we may have a prize for best Nissan and Toyota in that category.

any suggestions for comps is welcome

Soooo....

I've finally got my Uni Exam Timetable and my first exam is over a week after this, so, I am looking at all my options to make coming to this a possibility, but I have a question/favour to ask that might make it easier to get there.

I am fairly certain that my missus won't be able to come on the drive with me, so instead Jake might be riding shotgun on the trek there, but in a worse case scenario, if he can't make it, being that it is a good 12hr drive to Raleigh from Wagga Wagga, I was wondering if I was to leave here on the Thursday afternoon after work, is there a possibility of being able to crash at a Sydney person's house for the night then on the Friday convoy the rest of the way to the track with them and/or the other Sydney guys? This means that I would be able to break the drive up as driving 12 hrs in the day before a 2 day drift fest would be hard work! I would then also need the same sort of thing in reverse for the drive home on Monday/Tuesday. The problem is that I will have a car trailer so that would mean I'd need to be somewhere that I can park in the street etc.

I know it is a huge ask, but if there is a possibility, I'd be very grateful :) Would love to make it to this!

Hi Alex. I've got the perfect place for you to stay in Newcastle if you want. Me and the wife have a full spare room to offer you. Heaps of parking as well. I'll drive down the Friday too so convoy might be action. It's there if you want no problem

Awesome Mick, that sounds fantastic!

Definitely like the sound of breaking the trip up then convoying together Friday.

Matt, appreciate the offer too, but I might head through to Newcastle to get a bit more done on Thursday. :)

Now with that sorted, where do I find the registration/payment form! :D

drift kid
16th May 2013, 01:40 PM
so the tyre machine will definately be available?

Matt
16th May 2013, 03:20 PM
so the tyre machine will definately be available?

The old one will be there from last time, which was a bit sketchy... I have a mate with one who i will ask about borrowing his one, plan was to buy one but with the event running / not running I bought another 86 instead.

jakel
16th May 2013, 03:32 PM
Old one wasn't too bad just don't get upset when your wheels get scratched from it haha.

Matt
16th May 2013, 03:43 PM
I think it was more the operators not really knowing how to remove the old tyres from the rim...

sundee
16th May 2013, 03:48 PM
But at least it was slightly entertaining.
Alex - just click the event link in the tool bar at top of page.
Click drift fest and your on your way.
Any issues just give us a hollar.

Matt - you brought another 86??

Matt
16th May 2013, 04:15 PM
Well 3 actually. Plans for each will be revealed once they are reality and not just a shell sitting in my back yard. But it is safe to say it'll take 12 months to get them done.

The button EVENTSis the button you want to click on.

jakel
16th May 2013, 04:18 PM

hmm wonder who that doosh bag is that burnt his arm in the process of fitting 195's on a 10" rim.... hmmm

i need to know about all passangers and spectators that want in for food.
if you pay on the day there is no guarentee that there will be enough food for them.
eveyone payed will be issued a wrist band on the day.

Spectator entry is $30 per day or $50 for the entire weekend and includes camping and food.

Passenger entry is $40 per day or $70 for the entire weekend and includes camping and food

Camping is $15 for friday .

drift kid
17th May 2013, 07:23 PM

meadan

Im thinking ill book the friday for annual leave aswell to get there nice and early to setup my massive tent again!

sundee
19th May 2013, 02:08 PM
Haha, yeah we can all meet up for the treck up.
Thought the times will be a lot more strict this time around.
Because we have no daylight savings, sunset will be around 5pm.
Raleigh being in a ditch (literally) darkness will pretty much be set in by 5pm.
There maybe some twilight but I doubt it.
I'm aiming to be on the road by 8am this time ( from thronleigh maccas)
Gives up plenty of time to setup, collect fire wood and settle in.

meadan
19th May 2013, 02:27 PM
we can meet there at 8am if you like, leave 8:30 on the dot?

Ill also have my room for my 4wd fridge this time, want me to save some space for the food in it?

sundee
19th May 2013, 04:26 PM
Yeah man, this week I'm organising the food, since I'm bringing the S13 I'm gonna be tight on space.
Might need to rent some space to cart some things up

meadan
19th May 2013, 04:34 PM

For guys who haven't been to Raleigh before, there is no electricity where we camp.
I'm trying to source a generator, if anyone has any connections let me know. I had one last time but the boss I Had at the time, well I pissed him right off and don't work for him anymore so that's out of the question.

Eski's will be great! Bring them along

Hey guys, haven't been following this thread enough, what's the go so far? I'm guessing its going ahead by reading the last few pages, do we have to pay more cause we don't have the numbers? Or did we meet the minimum numbers needed? Oh and Joel can I check that one and my brothers entry is still good, paid for me and my brother Ross like 6 months ago, just want to Make sure both the payments transferred over from the past cancelled event.

Also i won't name who it was, but if anyone thinks it is a good idea to try and jump over the fire at this event, you will be asked to leave. Last thing we need is some idiot falling on the fire.

And i know it sounds high schoolish, but keep a safe distance from it and not ruin it for everyone.

See previous page.

Ill bring along my gazebo again, anyone know what the weather is meant to be like?

It will be cold, especially over night, but its saying 12 - 13'c lows and high of 22'c
30% chance rain sat and sun
40% chance rain Friday
With no hi chance of rain fall in the days preceding or following.

Wind from south veering westerly by Sunday at 3kts

Raleigh being in a hole - it will be down to about 8'c over night I reckon.
Depending on the temp/dew point we might see a heavy fog in the mornings.

Don't leave anything out at night that you don't want to get wet. Because it will be even with no rain.

Pack like your going on a snow trip.
It's easier to cool down then warm up.

Will have actuall accurate weather closer to date.

Only a week away!

Ive been stocking up on memory cards so I can get a heap of pictures and videos! Slightly annoyed my gopro(cheapo version) broke a few days ago.

Whos keen to meet at thornleigh maccas at 8AM for the drive up?
Im thinking leave BEFORE 8:30 to get there while its still light.

Keep in mind the traffic in the morning will be reasonably crap in sydney, so the earlier the start the better.

sundee
25th May 2013, 07:58 PM
We will be departing thronleigh maccas at 0800 on the dot.
Taking into account fuel and lunch stops that's gives us an ETA of 1500.
If anyone wants to convoy up these are the times.
If the maccas carpark is full, we will meet in the overflow car park at the end of the street, turn left at roundabout and right into the overflow carpark.

Well, after trying to re fit the exhaust so there is no stress on it, I have given up....... The existing exhaust no longer fits because my chassis was re aligned...

This has pretty much put an end to my hopes of making it to raleigh next week.... I have already borrowed enough money from people at the moment, and I can def not spare even $50.etc to have this fixed.....
so Close, but so far.....

I am so fucking annoyed, words cannot explain......

I know it's such a small thing, as its all pretty close to fitting, up, only slightly off, but I literally have no money...... The only money I have is enough for petrol for the tow and drift car...

But iam not leaving canberra, unless my car is 100%...... (iam not one of those guys who takes a NOT going car to a drift event and spends the whole time fixing it. Lamo!) Anyway, the exhaust issue is all fixed now, but I have to go to my mates work tomorrow (where the car was getting zaust work done) to go and fit up a new 2 way centre and replace an axle if needed.........

Fire wood - we all go for a treck into the near forest and collect as much as we can.
Just like camping.. Plenty of "stand back" to start it, so we should be good .

Forecast is for lows of 12'c and highs of 20'c.
Saturday - cloudy, chance of rain
Sunday - partly cloudy, chance of shower.
Monday - same as Sunday .

So in saying that, the nights won't be that cold, cloud cover holds in the radiant heat.
But pre pair for some water...

See it live, see it 1st.
;)

DriftFest Zero2 day 1 has ended, some light rain has set in, should make tomorrow interesting.
Plenty of rubber shredded, happy campers, e7 battle ended badly and a wild Irishman.

Stay tuned, ring in, bunyips cross here at night.
