The first model is the 86 TRD Customize Compact

The second is the Gazoo Racing Griffon Concept

The griffon concept is rumoured to have a lighter chassis and includes race spec suspension and exhaust, which if the Subaru BRZ Sti is anything to go by will see some pretty significant performance gains.

I would not be surprised if by the end of 2013, buyers will have more than 20 different specifications to choose from when buying the Toyota 86.

Unfortunately we will have to wait until January 11 2013 to see these new models unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

As soon as the information is available i'll update this thread.

Castle hill are bringing some of the TRD stuff in at stupidly expensive prices....

I feel a bit guilty posting this thread as it really has no info in it... I also read today that there is a Subaru brz being unveiled as well that has a carbon fibre roof, bilstein suspension and a few other go fast bits

Only a sucker fan boi would buy that....

kit: $2500 + paint $500
brakes: $12000
wheels: $2000 (add $1000 for tires)
suspension + bracing: $4500
interior bits+seats: $4000
exhaust $1500

so $22k isnt too bad. i really really want the trd brakes as the standard brakes are fucked after 2 hard circuit laps apparently. new pads and rotors needed. costs about $1000 retail for parts.....

when im fully qualified i will start buying trd stuff. i want to now but its unnecessary for how i currently drive my 86 (daily and occasional hills)

Griffon Concept

Carbon Fibre Bumper, Roof, Bonnet, Doors.
Polycarbonate windows

More than 225kg of weight shedded

Toyota claim that the GT 86 Griffon is quicker around the Tskuba circuit than a Ferrari 458 without any power upgrades. Just purely suspension and the weight reduction parts.

brakes: $12000
looks like the WRX brakes will bolt on (WRX STi Brembo's too! MY04 had 5x100's)

^ which is a better option for me not wanting to go any larger than 17's (trd brakes require 18's).

i will research this further

Sounds fucking awesome, nothing like a boxer!

will need wheels to fit the larger calipers, but shouldn't be a problem with offsetty wheels and/or stock wrx (or my04 sti) wheels

the boxer note is because of the UEL extractors, put EL extractors on a wrx and it sounds like an inline4 (aka Evo LOL)
