So after waiting 6months+ (placing order on 11th June - 1 week after pricing and 1 week before official release) I picked up my 37J GTS 6mt on 21st December. Best Christmas present EVER!

Tracked the boat and watched it dock (was off sick from work so had nothing better to do haha):

That same weekend went on a cruise to freo and found it:

5 days later (including a very well planned fremantle port strike) Delivered to me Dock Fresh:

Just fitted in the garage with the tezza:

Didn't have time to wash or drive it really until the Sunday:

Got my oil filters from subaru since they are half the price for the same reboxed filter at toyota. $17 vs $35....

Don't forget the sump washer/gasket (seem to be a crush ring type).

There seams to be quite a few in WA...

I bet the wait was worth it and thanks for the good tip on the filters being half price of the Toyota item..

Nice, I didn't know they were selling TRD door stabilizers separate?
On another note I can't see for the life of me why the owner of the blue GT86 would
Do the lip and skirts a different colour, it makes it look tacky IMO

My guess would be he had just received them and fitted them whilst waiting to arrange paint

I've seen it like that for a while, so I assumed that was the look he was going for.

The HTAutos rear skirts arrived from the UK today so threw them on quickly (took 3minutes). Has 4 holes but only needs the two factory clips to keep it in place firmly. Compliments the aero kit diffuser thingo :)

My Beatrush brake stopper arrived on Tuesday so while I was in the mood for fitting things I smashed that on :P

-TOM'S tail lights
-TRD door stabalisers

Looking at Perrin catback exhaust (2.5" unresonated) or ARK dts/grip cbe with test/front pipe... Just got to decide which (probably will be the perrin)

Cheers Davey!

Lights were a smidge under $500 but you can get them for as little as $360 if you jump on the right group buy (ave price is around $400 from an aus distributor). I got mine directly from TOM's off rakuten global :)

So I'm approaching 10,000km and so far all is good (kinda - rear deck clicking/popping and rear seat clicking depending on how hot it is outside). A lot has changed in the 11months I've owned it, but it still puts a smile on my face every time I get in :)

A few weeks back was Toyotas in the Park in which I used the opportunity to get some pictures taken (I should actually buy a decent camera one of these days). Not much had changed (except I got rid of a Toyota badge).

Current update (as of Friday) I put my new Enkei RPF1 in 17x9 +35 on the car. Went for 235/45 R17 because it's a common size and easy to get in a variety of flavours.

I've still got the XD9's, I'll put them on the car when I feel like it. It drives a lot better with the RPF1 though, doesn't feel like im dragging a boat anchor behind me anymore (downside of 10" wide rears).

Next update might be on Exhaust (Kakimoto Regu.06&R - if I obtain one) or Audio (which probably isn't of much importance :P)

Looks so good Tom! Have you changed your oil yet? We are going to do ours at 1000km. Interested to see how the exhaust goes. Still undecided what we wanna put in my wifes car, keep updating this thread and keep it up!

Nikkojoe
19th November 2013, 03:05 AM
Cheers :)

I've had the oil changed 3 times now (once by the dealer - played footage back from the dash cam). Did one not long after the first inspection (5w 30 and genuine subaru filter), another at 5000km followed by the dealer last month (with 0W-20).

This is what toyota gave me as a loan car :/

If I dont end up getting the kakimoto i'll most likely go for the perrin unresonated system although I may be tempted by the xForce 2.5" system now available.
