Not amazingly, I hear there was a motorkhana on next door though and one of the ZN6's over there apparently did alright.

Well I had a great day , was there to have a good time and do a little scruff of the neck driving and try to sort out my starts , which are always abbismal. But the day was tempered by an offical that warned me I was only two DBA off the noise limit and disqualification. Never been that close before and have not changed a thing in the past 3 years ( maybe the baffles are shot ???) . Also was told my driving was a bit over the top and was scaring some of the kids. Bugger me , I may have been a bit sideways at times and the ripple strip was an old friend on the day , but I never spun or left the track , not once . Others had there moments and sort out greener pastures and as far as I know did not get a warned . Well that was his opinion , I payed my entry and as far as I am conserned did nothing wrong.

I did not get many photos , but will post a few when I get a chance.

Yeah, Matt, the guy in the white 86 at the Hillclimb was not exactly driving it like he should...... Was pretty much just driving it around the track..... Was painfull to watch to be honest....... I asked the guy if he had just got the car, thinking it must be very new....

He said, nah, got it last July......

But on the other hand, there was a "Sonic" blue 86 next door at the Motorkhana absolutely ripping it up...... Well done to this man!!!!!

good job mate!

that sounds like rubbish from the organisers - or they had another problem

'scaring the kids' gimmie a break

if you payed, you didnt crash or damage/hold up anything

tell him to politely get fucked

I know what you are saying, but the white 86 really was just lame...... Was literally just driving around..... Wasn't going hard enough to even get a feel for it....

I saw him comment on another forum, it was his first ever track event from the sounds of things and he was aware that he wasn't getting the best out of his car.

Fresh out of Hospital ( everything is where it is suppose to be , all is good in the world ) I did not even scare any kids while there , in fact a person at the Hospital was actually at the hiilclimb last week with two children ages 6 and 8 . The children where heard to squeal with DELIGHT, not FEAR as mine and many other cars whistled past.
So my learned detractor may have been a little confused (or have a different agender ).

My 10 cents worth on the FT86 driver is simple ( I will tell it to anyone who will listen ) but I never follow my own advise . But we do this driving thing to get enjoyment for ourselves , not to please others. You should drive as fast as you feel comfortable with , not beyond your skills or cars abilities. Not much point wrecking your machine and scaring yourself silly , build your pace and modify your car to suit . There is plenty of time to go fully sick. It can be a delicate balance between , money , vehicle usage ( track , road or both ) , all play role on how you approach an event most important thing is to have fun , if you are not having fun then , you will not be doing it for very long.
Cheers Bob

Couldn't agree more with drive at your own pace, but by the sounds of it my mum hoons to church on a sunday quicker than this guy was driving...

One thing i did find a little sad was hearing that 19 year old bought a gt86 and his insurance bill for the first year was $5,600 with a $1,500 excess, next year it is still $4,800 with the same excess.

Makes it worth holding out until you are older to get something new.

Matt if the age = lower premium is right, by now the bastards should be paying me to insure with them ( might ring them up and ask ) I will let you know if i DO ANY GOOD . Ha HA HA --- GOD i AM FUNNY --- not !
