Hey guys!
Long time no see. For the very first time I am proud to announce I own a Toyota!
Story goes.... I had an SR20DE Datsun Stanza when I was one my red p's, did some track days in it, drove it daily, heaps of street. best car ive owned, even if it was a heap of shit haha,
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/3/0/4/507699.jpg
So I sold that to buy/build something I could develop abit more as the stanza was pretty limited ( steering box and shit rear end design) so I bought this S3 trx bluebird a mate had for sale, CA18DET, S13 coilovers, cage, hydro, etc etc. worked on it for a year or so and drove it properly 3 times, it was fast and shit but it was a money pit and I am a uni student and I was getting over it.
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/3/0/4/507700.jpg
So I sold it and picked up this beaaaauty off a good dude named Benzo.
86' Avante RT142, IRS with a tired 22re

How's the computer take to ' throwing a cam in it' ?
I want to get rid of the EGR gear, I hear it does wonders for them but im not sure what to toss and what to keep?

Fuck it all off mate!!! All of it haha!!! Just plug the vacuum lines that are left open. Also get a cold air intake/poddy, cut out a hole section in your engine bay and put it down behind the front bar. Big power
Btw the car looks tuff! I like the chrome wheel arches and pin stripe!

I brought the biggest cam from engnbldr? From eBay. Runs sweet on stock computer, I just bumped the AFM up a few notches.
Jdm-Mcc
13th May 2013, 11:30 AM
Yeah sweet! I think im gunna grab a 'torker' cam , second hand extractmores, remove EGR, loosen up AFM, crank up timing. MAYBE a pod lol, all in all gunna cost like 300 clams.
Had a practice day at winton on saturday which was super fun, was driving with 3 corollas and a sigma. suck that silvia/skyline gang. Car drove awesome, spent the day adapting to the car but was getting confident with it in the end. bakes 3rd. just needs that bit more torque up top to make it bareable until engine swapsies.
Im lovin' it!

This engine is fairly tired, which I think may contribute to how hot it gets when sliding. Was going to put a alloy rad in, ill check thermostat and a few other things first tho.
If things go to my current plan, this should have a RWD converted gen 3 3sge in it in the near future, do cam's and quads later on. Beams prices can suck me off at the next station

beams are actually a bargain for what you get
admittedly the price to actually put one in a car adds up but they are well worth it
in a corona though I would consider something else if you want to spin the wheels hard

I really like 4age ke70's and the concept of how they are driven, So i see this as a upscaled 4age ke with IRS and torque. I enjoy working hard to keep the car sliding, beams would be awesome but its out of my price range and this motor plus some cams and bike carbs or itb's would be rad IMO

Not much has been going on with this rig, I bought a gen3 3sge that had been converted to rwd. Was looking at pictures of my old SR20DE stanza. Boom next week I owned an SR20DE S13, Couldnt shake the memories of the sound and power of the stock SRDE.
Soooo I sold the 3s to a good mate of mine, and now I have the SR to go in, Bought some extractors and a HD clutch, otherwise stock. Maybe an alloy radiator! Hoping to have it converted by QLD matsuri, LOL
Also a lovely gentlemen opted to swap me my 7.5 -6 for hise 8 +0 mk2's so now I have 8's all round! which just add a touch more stretch for when I make the rear camber adjustable to get some more tyre life, also going to re-bush the ass end while im at it!
Ill try and take some pictures of the conversion but if not ill just take a video of a conversion complete static! haha
sam92

I have no job and I like to get shit done so I can do skids haha.
Drove this for the first time today, Goes abit better then the 22re, with some more advance and some new plugs it should go abit better, mind you this motor has 260,000k on it. but long motors are cheap.
I need to modify the exhaust under the subframe as it touchs the ground on acceleration lol. also I manualised the power steering rack in this but the ratios are too short and makes it far too heavy so im going to have to put a manual rack in! but otherwise seems all good, sounds goooood
Jacobxxx
20th August 2013, 11:42 PM
Ra60 rack should be sweet

3rd September 2013, 10:14 PM
Soooooo I swapped the manual rack out of our rally corona, fixed up a few things, put some new plugs in and the motor has started to open up abit and goes alot better.
I entered a practice day at winton on sunday which was fun! snapped the top radiator hose fitting off the radiator on the way there, shit s13 plastic tank rad. patched it up and drove all day and home again with it, apart from slight fuel surge which will be solved with a pump upgrade, it went sweet! scraped a hole in my exhaust under the subframe haha.

Made up a rear camber adjustment kit for this the other day based on some designs Big_M sent me the legend! got about -2 degrees now opposed to close to -6 and I can also now adjust the toe as before it was maxed out and still toeing in, so yet to get an alignment and see what happens. Also got an alloy radiator in this now.

In regards to 22R sumps sitting low, Mackay Rubber urethane engine mounts raise the engine enough so the sump sits higher than the crossmember if you're inclined, Lachlan. :)

Cheers dudes!
Forgot to mention since QR matsuri ive put a 4.5 final ratio into this and im stokeddddddddddd with how its transformed the car.
Also had a little module put in my ecu to give it a "speed sensor input" as in a s13, the ecu takes the speed signal from the dash, not directly from the speedo drive signal, when not used ( like in a conversion just like mine) the ecu doesnt get a speed input signal and does a hard fuel cut under load which is rather inconvienient when your in a drift sammich door to door with other cars and your car looses power and straightens up near causing mass carnage.
280'000km's on this motor and 140psi comp, still kicking baby!
