Hey, Im Daniel. Im from NZ.
This is my 1979 Corolla ae70 GL notchback.
Have had for about 6 years. Spent alot of time on this, pobably more time than actually driving it haha.

Engine is midly worked 4age smallport/20v silvertop bottom hybrid thing, with a bigport head. 11:1 c/r
with 45dellortos. Fgk extractors, 2,25 exhaust.

W55 gearbox with ae92 gze flywheel.
T series disc diff from a ma45 celica, 10in factory discs, 4.6 diff.
Subaru bc adjustables up front, hilux 4pots/peugeot rotors combo, camber plates. full nolathane etc.
Bride drivers seat, nardi wheel, ae70 SE guard mirrors

Pretty much all the original ae70 running gear is gone, everything is from different cars, probably 15-20 cars!
Thats the best part about these corollas!

Wheels are 14x7.5 -5 volk mesh on front, 14x8.5 0 ssr mk2 on rear.

Have been to a few track days. More into grip days, than drifting.
Am building up a TRD motor in my spare time, pretty much N2 spec.

Another NZ owner here to make us Aussies feel sad about all the cars we DIDNT get!

Welcome mate.

Why the Subaru front coilovers and not AE86 ones?

Haha sorry about that!
It is a jap import so there could be a few floating around over there?

The subaru bc's popped up on trademe about 3 years ago, and were 250 brand new in the box. they fitted straight over the 53mm strut tube housing so seemed like a good choice. 34 way adjustable dampening too. works mint

Little update. Cars finally back in the garage.
Rust. Rust. Rust. Been doing this with my father over the last 2 weeks.

As most of you know these cars really love to rust.
Luckily this car had lots of rust cut out 9 years ago.

Does anyone happen to know of any of these tail lights floating around? Or have any for sale?
Need to be in very good condition. Theyre a very odd ball taillight. from a 1979 (prefacelift) corolla ae70 hardtop GL. with reverse light above the reflector

This is the spare light I have. Its for the left obviously. Its not faded but there are 2 smallish cracks in the middle red lens. Has no bulb holders. Genuine parts.

Are you willing to sell that tailight to me!? haha. my left hand taillight is not good (below). The lens' are broken from the plastic frame. the indicator lens is broken and poorly glued together. theres holes in the bottom of indicator. Would be nice to have a mint one.
