Hi Guys,

For the nth time, i'd like to know if anyone has fitted 205/50R15 on a KE70 with 15x9 zero Offset wheels. Reason I'm asking is because I'm about to buy a pair of XXR wheels for my 1uz KE70 project and I'd like to fit 205/50R15 in the rear.

Please if anyone has a pic or helpful opinion of whether they'll fit, please help a guy out.

Oh, and this is my first post, i just signed up 22 mins ago.

Thanks guys.

Max

any size and offset can be made to fit....

all comes down to how much work you are willing to do to the guards...

i guess that's the general idea. have u seen 15x9 on a ke70? i talked to my mechanic and he said 195/50 r15 wouldnt get me the grip i need for the 1uzfe. i'm thinking 205/50is the next option. i hop someone shows me a pic of what it's like on a ke70 in the rear...

10mm difference in width between 195 & 205 right. You wont be getting much traction with a 1uz in a ksev anyway .
You'll find it easier to fit the 9s with a 195 tyre and they are cheaper too.
Welcome to the forum. Chuck up a build thread if you can

Thanks dove grey 64.

Right now I'm still sourcing the parts needed (it's a hectic list). Got the engine, R154 gearbox and the ae71 hydraulic pedal box. maybe once i sort out the wheel issue, i'll start a build thread. my current daily driver is a AE92... will post a pic of it soon.

I honestly think 15x7 with 0 offset is the limit of standard KE70 fenders, unless you're uninterested in retaining any kind of sensible suspension travel. Anything wider and you will want to flare the fenders, fit bolt on flares or do the front on rear fender arch swap etc. I also think 15x9 0 offset will be getting very close to, if not fouling on the struts. You may want to measure it up before you buy them.

How about, since your doing such a custom conversion, and will need fab done anyway, why dont you just get the guards flared????
You will have trouble with traction regardless....

Also, tyre size is one thing, but tyre quality is a bigger factor....... A good quality 195/50/15, is alot better than a cheap 215/50/15 for example....

Iam interested to see a R154 in a KE70.......

I test fitted 14x8.5-7 on my Kesev, the outside would be the same as a 15x9 0. You will need at least a 60mm flair to cover them.

i run 15x9 +0 with 195 50 R15 on my ke70. ive done the front on rears weld on conversion and they sit about 3-4mm proud of them but with the 195 stretched over them it tucks under nicely. i find it has enough traction for what i want. engine is a basic s14 sr20det. ill see if i can get a pik

I'll need some decent suspension travel since the car will be mainly for street use. if i had a 15x9 lying around, i would do the measurements, but that's not possible at the moment. i want to see what other people have done, then maybe i'll decide. Thanx

Flaring the guards wont be a problem if the wheels look decent. i plan on doing lots fab work... There's a guy call Llyod with a sweeeet V8 Ke70. He used an R154 in his but he had to do some minimal cutting of his firewall to make it fit. Maybe if i come across the famous W58, i might drop the R154. but for now, that's what's available. we'll see...

How much suspension travel do u have there? or what's the set up at the back? now we are getting somewhere...

This looks awesome!! Lots of guard work required though to tuck it in well, but i like it... i wish you could test fit a 205/50R15 on this just for class purposes.:thumbup:

Hey max
those tyres are 195 50 r15 and the wheels are 0 offset. So no negative, no positive. You can see more pictures of the whole car in my build thread
Susp travel is minimal before scrub but its just a track car, you would just have your ride height slightly higher. Setup is an E series diff, cut 4 or 5kg/mm springs and bilstein shocks. Then obviously the 15x9 +0 with a front arch welded on over them.

i just noticed ur from Kampala, I spent a short time there last year, so much traffic!! Haha

Haha Looking at your build thread right now... Your car looks really good!! I say you were lucky to have a donor car with everything in it... You came to Kampala??? ... maybe you'll pay me a visit if u ever return. Kampala has traffic...LOTS like you said, but we know where the fun is... I'll show you next time We do some street racing once in a while, mostly against STI Imprezas that spit fire... it's hard to keep up with those guys if i'm driving my AE92... So i want my V8 KE70 to give them a run for their $$$$... that's the general motivation for my build. i pray it works out fine.

Yea I was lucky but it was a really poor build. Everything tech screwed in, everything super dodgy. I'm actually surprised it did catch fire. The boot was full of fuel and had a love amp cable not attached to anything floating around. N yea I spent two days around Kampala visiting an orphanage my gfs cousin was volunteering at. If I ever get back there ill give you a yell. Good luck with the sti's ;-) haha
