Its been 2 months since ive been able to work on her. Got the carpet, seat rails and front door trims out of storage n slapped em on. Tomorrow is the mildly loud stereo install. Only running a $99 sony head deck, JB hifi one way 6" splits in the kick panels, 6x sony tweeters all round, 2way 5x7 inch sony with an 8" ute boxed sub in the back and 2 small amps! Still waiting on a few things to come. More pics soon

Still undecided atm. I have a mildly worked NA 16v 4age sitting in pieces waiting. But im looking into a 3sge black top conversion instead. ive been told that if i threw another $2-3k at the 4age id be a little better than a stock altezza 3sge power output. And with working a NA 4age to 150kw comes reliability issues.
What do u think?

Any suggestions on which way I should go with a budget of $5k would be great.

a 4age will almost never be better than a beams

beams will always been newer, have more torque and drivability, reliability and scope for more power later...rather than a worked 4age

downsides of beams are - everything costs more, it doesnt bolt in and the conversion isnt as simple, its not a corolla engine, not legal in some states etc etc

Weigh up what you want from the car I guess
