Well I decided to sell my beige sedan and most of my parts and just buy a better car to skid, most likely nissan. Meanwhile I was looking for a cheap daily

Ended up buying this wagon very cheap off "TOM" on Rollaclub, great guy to deal with

Plans are to get it low in some decent handling suspension, 'mild but flush with stock guards' 14s, and just daily it pretty much

Specs
1984 KE70 Corolla S station wagon

Engine: Stock 4K, small exhaust which sounds ok

Gearbox: K50 5-speed, Xtreme heavy-duty clutch

Brakes: stock

Suspension: Standard KE70 junk, front shocks are rooted, front lowered a little bit thanks to saggy springs, 2" lowering blocks, Boge Turbo rear shocks

Wheels/tyres:
front - 14x7 +3 polished MA61 rims (5mm spacers), 185/60 Nankang
rear - 14x7 +3 polished MA61 rims (5mm spacers), 185/60 random

Exterior: 'non shine' red paint (I might polish it), straightness, rust, chrome guardtrims, towbar

Interior: light blue, collapsed driver bucket seat-ish, fluffy dice, factory icy cold A/C, crap Philips tape player with stock speakers and really bad 4" in rear, tacho dash, 360mm Nardi Classic on 65mm HKB boss, AJPS handbrake button

Got a few little things to fix but nothing major (rhs wheel-bearing, inlet leak (either manifold or carby), and a timing belt)

Has matching MA61s on the rear now, and I polished the rust off the the chrome gutter trims.

My fingers are sore from sanding and polishing..

Have most suspension sorted, hopefully I can have it all here, together and installed next weekend for the Toyota cruise

Should handle nicely for a leaf-sprung wagon

I took the tacho dash out of the sedan and put it in the wagon today along with my Nardi.

Whats up with wagon/panelvan rear guards. 14x7 +3 is nearly about 15mm from flush

Gave it a little stick down a few side streets today and it goes pretty hard for a stock (possibly original 350,000km) 4K.

if you want to lower the rear you can get your leafs reset for $350 to $400. BigBBQ's has them and its lower and he says its 10x times better, or if you still want to put heavy shit in the back bottom leaf to the top is what i did.!

This will definitely not get 13s otherwise it'll have to go mega low

I got some 2" blocks from Lawson, they should be ok. Might look at reset leafs in the future though

yeh i wouldnt recommend running blocks and a locker (if you were planning on it)

the blocks are always coming loose and its a pain in the ass!!

and you dont HAVE to go mega low if you run 13's, mines got 13's and i drive it around daily fine and its not TO high, well the rear is but the fronts fine

yeh i think height makes your car stand out more than fitment does. iv been pulled over 3 times and cops hardly say a thing about my car, last car had less track and smaller wheels and i got raped first time the cops saw me just because it was so low

yeh yours didnt look as low cos you had 165 55's, so the wheels look really small in the guards so u have extra guard clearance. but yeh sigmas and 13x7 -37's = insane track

Umm so I chucked in some 2-inch lowering blocks thanks to Dave at AJPS and Boge Turbo rear shocks which were in my beige sedan when I bought it

rear is now low and good, front is still gay and repping gangster lean now

tomorrow I have to fix a small problem with blocks and rubber mallet rear guards a little

oh and I have an idea for a cool exhaust

I am looking for an cleaner AE71 wagon (PM me) so all mods are being done so that they can be transfered to AE wagon when I buy one

Fixed the blocks, and hammered the inner lip flat-ish so no more rubbing on bumps

Rear is good height, guard is lever with tyre.

Have my eye on a set of 14x7 -6, which would be perfect. Have to get owner to sell lol

Rear wheel bearings are getting worse, tried to get axles out a few weeks ago. They wouldn't budge so I gave up lol. Should probably do it this week

I gave the whole car a cut and polish the other week as well, so now it is somewhat shinier and has pretty swirl marks all over it :P

Tried my old 13x8 -7 SSR MK1's on the rear to find they actually sit pretty flush, gave me some bad ideas at the time. Will stay on MA's though

Something is still wak with lowering blocks so I'm thinking of taking them out and flipping springs. What spring/s would I flip to lower it around 2 inches?

Also what Falcon springs can I use in the front? I have a pair of EL Falcon rear springs laying around and can't seem to find anyone selling 86 struts. Just want the front lower to match the rear...

Until I sell it on, she does me well as a daily, can carry a fair bit of gear/tyres and owes very little. If only it didn't have so much rust and was generally better condition I would keep it for longer

UPDATE!!!

Stock sus was put back in, MA61's removed, and wheel bearings were replaced

diff is definitely not KE70, wheel bearings ended up being the same as an Escort diff so its Borg Warner of some sort

Then I swapped it for this..
