Picking it up from the dealer

Took it immediately to old pac to run the engine in, and got the obligatory 86kms photo... :P

This will stay standard till the warranty runs out, and then if i'm still in love with it it will probably get boosted in one form or another...

It handles very very well, and it's nice to have a modern car with all the creature comforts for once too :D

i had them on max for over 8 months. one day i was bored at a red light and fiddled with the switch. so much more clarity in the display with them 1 down from max. having them on max you get a hazey glare and the lines dont look as sharp.

Now finally I have some time for the next update

18/08/2013

Trackday was good fun. I've always thought that the tyres feel OK on the street, but on the track they were shown to be pretty fkn shite. Had a shitload of traffic and never got a good run, but I was still fairly disappointed to only get a 1:17.83

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/2/4/3/0/514561.jpg (http://s1154.photobucket.com/user/aw11mr2mk1/media/IMG_1724_zps9d5b45ff.jpg.html)

Garth had a go and was also in traffic most of the time, he managed a bit better with a 1:17.05, but we both agreed there is at least a good 1.5-2 seconds in the car with some more practice and having a good string of laps to get a rhythm going.

Final verdict now that I have done a trackday in it: in stock form the car makes much more sense as a fun street car than it does as a track car. The factory tyres and brake pads feel great on the street, but they are completely not up to the task on the track. In terms of dynamics you really can't ask for anything more of the car. It is by far the easiest most controllable car I have ever driven, far easier to control even than my S13. With some good tyres and brake pads and a supercharger kit, it would be an absolute weapon of a thing.

BUT!!!

I already have a track car, and this is supposed to be my fun reliable daily, so I dont think that will be happening anytime soon. If anything, taking this car to wakefield has motivated me to get the faildub back on the road sooner :P

10,000kms down and no problems whatsoever. People say that the engines "free up" afterk the first service at 15000kms, at this rate that wont be far away...

I wouldn't wait till 15,000km for the first oil change. Especially if your tracking it haha

I thought the same thing, admittedly I didn't track mine, so I kept checking the oil at 1000km intervals expecting it to be black and gross but it was still mint at 14k. Plus I wasn't sure if the oil from the factory had any sort of running in additive in it...
