AIROCOBRA
14th September 2013, 03:54 PM
I still reckon that track is ideal for a time attack session ---- especially for moderate powered --- good handling , light weight toyota's --- ( driven by old fat blokes ).

Something like this maybe ???????????????? 8|:P:DD:DD:DD

maxhag
14th September 2013, 07:44 PM

Matt

Rumour has it bob can steer

AIROCOBRA
14th September 2013, 08:37 PM
Kind words JO JO , but I think I would need to loose 40 plus KG to put money on me...... Although I could possibly be a good bet in any high board belly flop competition !!!!!!! :DD

And Matt , tomorrow I am doing a hill climb on old hard street tyres , so I may learn a bit more about drifting than I bargained for and if it rains , then it will have to be a full on slide attack.:peek::peek::peek:

drift kid
14th September 2013, 08:46 PM
So bob? Will you be skidding at DFZERO3? ;)

AIROCOBRA
14th September 2013, 08:56 PM
Only if it rains and I have spent to much money on my cars to afford a new set of sneakers :DD

sundee
15th September 2013, 08:20 PM
There are only 2 general rules, always have fun and always have respect.
Have none of the above, don't show at all.

BEAMS_86
15th September 2013, 09:12 PM
^^^ was that aimed at me or just a general post lol.

sundee
15th September 2013, 10:57 PM
Nah , I don't even know you...
It's a general rule, it's pretty broad, it can be broken in a heap of ways.. But it's a blanket.
That's why I like it..
I guess the only issue we had last time was guys rocking up super late Friday night, and not having "respect" for everyone else who was sleeping.

This time though, there is a cut off, and the gates will be locked.

The only other major deal breaker is Drugs.
They won't be tolerated, if its suspected, I won't even bother with the users, I'll just call the cops and tell them
They are dealing..
Alcohol is permitted, but only after 5pm when track time is over.
Drunken behaviour will get you kicked out.

See it all falls under fun and respect.

You'll have a ball, it's a great atmosphere, great crew, good times.

drift kid
16th September 2013, 06:34 AM
Yeah sorry about rocking up late, really didn't mean any disrespect joel

sundee
16th September 2013, 09:54 AM
They actually do... But I don't think they let anyone use it.

That right I remember now Ben, that was your mates diesel that he left rattling for god knows how long.
Haha, it's all good, just get there earlier next time ;)

It's gonna be gates shut at 2100 I'm feelin.

And open again at 0700.

drift kid
16th September 2013, 10:07 AM
Yeah we'll be leaving in the morning on the Friday so we will be there before sundown ;)

Matt
16th September 2013, 10:53 AM
Its prob also worth noting that "we are our own marshells" and have to abide by the rules of raleigh. Whilst its pretty epic to have 3-8 car trains running around the track, the liability insurance from raleigh doesn't permit more than 2 cars on the track at any time. And if we keep raleigh happy, they leave us alone to do our own thing. They also have a policy if you piss them off, you will not be welcome back.

Also being in the middle of no where, noise travels allot more than you realise... ie. i was laying in my tent and someone 20m away farted ( modified arse i'm sure) and it felt like it was above my head.

drift kid
16th September 2013, 11:29 AM
Yeah everybody seemed to keep to the rules and have a good time at the last event

sundee
16th September 2013, 05:10 PM
There were a few things I'd like to tighten up, but nothing major.
"Respecting" the marshals is another.
Tandems, only. No trains. Like matt said, their insurance doesn't cover that.

We need to cover our own ass's as well

drift kid
16th September 2013, 06:08 PM

By any chance Matt would you have a LS1 powered Cressedia to hire out--- I think that would be able to support my bulk and allow me to go a bit sideways !!!!!!!!!!!:bones::bones::bones::bones:

drift kid

AIROCOBRA
21st September 2013, 07:13 PM
Joel , not sure about the water , you could be right ----- but I personally don't drink much of it ( found a few other things I seem to like to drink ).
But I get your point --- we are a strange lot , us Canberran's , I think we live a very sheltered life ( under the umbrella of politics and all the stuff ) Oh !!!!! and we don't get out much !!!!!!! It's just AE86's & Corolla's , a little bit of sleep ,drink and food and then we do it all over again !!!!!!!! we are so predictable.

Next week I will be covering the meaning of life for Holden owners ( a very short essay ) ---- and do most 86 owners have a permanent hard on , or are they just genuinely very pleasure to see you ???????????

Just a word of advice on this one... No screamers will past the noise test.
You can try, BUT please note - if you do try and you don't pass the test, your car wont be allowed on the track and unfortunately there will be no refunds.
So just understand this is the risk you will be taking.

Just need to make this very clear.

Ive said all i need to say.. in the end anyone running a screamer is taking a risk.
measurements are done with a top notch DB meter...its very accurate, but yes you need to take into account the test environment, and this, 9/10 times wont match or replicate the environment at raleigh.

Sounds like it may have to be quite low if it's being tested in an echoey environment.

It's tested on a concrete slab approx 20m away from a huge metal shed, it's in a vally surrounded by hills and huge gum trees.

At a guess, if you can measure it in an industrial area and get around 90 - 92dba

What is the go with rust in a car? The car I'm planning on bringing isn't bad but if it isn't done the backup has a little in it nothing structural though.

Matt
23rd October 2013, 08:04 AM
Common sense rules apply... If it isn't solid structurally you wouldn't put it on the track.

Also 10 payments received already :) Lots of rego's were received last night. If you still want to come, i've added another option Standby track day, register with that and if a spot comes up, I'll offer it to you.

A few confirmation of payment emails have gone out. I have 6 others who didn't use your DC username as a reference so I've got to go digging for who you are. There are also only 28 spots gone as a few people had issues registering and took up a couple of spots instead of 1.

Hopefully by our next event in October you will be able to pay with keycard / credit details at the time of registration.

Also, have noticed a few people have emergency contacts listed of people who will be going there, i'll pm you guys to get alternative details. Having struggled the past 2 times to get numbers, this makes me happy to see it fill so quickly.

The ls1 weighs very close to that of an SR20.

Shockworks have done a coilover set already for LS1 into ke.

Don't really have the money to buy shockworks Haha but I've seen Neil gregson uses 8/5 and I think Dave's is close to the same so I'll Have to Tune my suspension I guess, already running those rates

Boys will be boys eh...

Also prob worth mentioning is that if you are bringing a mate / gf / kids etc.

Please register them so we cater for the food and have to pay raleigh for the camping as well. There is now a boom gate at the top of the track and they'll be checking numbers as you come through.

I want the numbers I tell them to match with the actual numbers.

if your name is not on the list you will be charged by raleigh at the gate and you will not be included in the catering.
There will also be no spots for drivers "rocking up on the day"

Yes within 7 days, and those who haven't paid may lose their spots.

Blair you sound bitter? Is there an issue?

Matt

Have an offer to buy tyres in bulk and have them delivered to the track. I haven't investigated yet as to what brands are available, but post here the size, preferred brand you are after and I'll get back to you with some pricing.

The larger the order for tyres the cheaper they will be.

I'm thinking of writing up a script thingy that will let you put a link to your build thread + effectively have a drivers profiles where you can show a pic of your car etc and describe what is done to it.

Once the day is done, i'll also upload pics where you can go to the events page and see all the pics that you are "tagged" in as such.

IF your name is not on the list it means I haven't marked you off as paid.

Last chance to pay up or your spot will be offered up to someone else.
