djconfig
18th February 2014, 03:58 PM
The SA63.

-Just picked up a sa63 celica notch back for $1000 for my first car.

Rear.

-Independent Rear Suspension.
-Drums Brakes.
-Stock Springs and Shocks.
-also feels like it may have an LSD not sure yet.

Front.

-Stock Springs and Shocks close to the same setup as an ae86. (not 100% sure)
-Disk Brakes.

Engine & Gearbox.

-The engine is a 2.0l 2S-C which runs very nicely, but will need to be swapped out in the future with a Camry 5S-FE or a Celica 3S_GE.
-Gearbox - W55.

Plans for now.

-drop and replace all fluids, filters, belts, etc .
-new rims and tires.
-paint front and rear bumpers.
-fully adjustable Megan coilovers.
-shortened steering knuckles. (the turning circle sucks)
-lock/weld the rear diff.
-clutch replacement.

Good choice!

3SGE would be easiest conversion for the car. You would have a T series rear end which means you can in theory use T series LSD's from JDM AE86 (TRD, Cusco, Kazz etc) Not sure if they would be small axle or big axle though?
Weld on AE86 coilovers will work (same strud ID etc), camber tops you have to redrill strut tops. Apparently S13 tops are closer fit but drilling a couple holes isn't that bad.

thanks for the info jacob ill have a look in to the AE86 LSD's

If you ever find the lights turn on but dont pop up, its the horn fuse in the engine bay, it also has the light motor power feed. Its not marked as lights at all. Took me a day or two to work out. How many miles on this girl?

djconfig

The prevues owner had the shifter bent for what i assume was to make it easier to shift witch dosnt feel very nice to drive with, so i ordered a TRS short through replacement from Ebay. the price was quite steep but hopefully it will be worth it.

djconfig
21st March 2014, 08:41 PM
ok so the celica is now on the road!! :D got my coilovers in yesterday, haven't gotten the height just right but from lowering it i have gotten a massive camber gain in the rear, is there much i can do about this? other then going back to stock height or cutting and welding anything.

will put up some picks tomorrow once i set the ride hight where i want it.

Jacobxxx
21st March 2014, 09:29 PM
Nope. Only thing that fixes it is lowering it more 😛

djconfig
21st March 2014, 09:38 PM
wouldn't that just give it more camber?

wagonlife
21st March 2014, 09:45 PM
Exactly.

Sprinter Freak
24th March 2014, 05:09 PM
lol, only way to fix the camber gain in the rear is to get adjustable rear camber arms.

not too sure if they make them for this model of celica though.

You could take the standard arms to a fabricator and get them to make them more adjustable, but this could cost a lot.

Jacobxxx
24th March 2014, 05:58 PM
They don't work like that haha

this is one way,(http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/19176-Rear-Camber-Adjustment-System-for-IRS-80s-Toyota-s) doubt he is still selling kits but, i had one in my RT142 and works a treat, now i have to cut the mounts out again and weld into MX73 subframe  (slightly wider)

Also quietly lurking. Is the 3sge going to be mounted on the standard slant or are you doing something else for the heads oil drainage?

djconfig
30th June 2014, 05:01 PM
Using 2sc mounts and a 2sc bellhousing its going to be mounted up right, im going to tap in to the exhaust side of the head and run a drain to the sump.

djconfig
30th June 2014, 06:51 PM
cut down rear water neck still needs to be welded, stock one sticks out to far and hits the fire wall.

Common problem, piece of shit parts. I blew the factory one and then 2 new ones in 3 years lol

There is an eccentric bolt mount mod for the rear subframe that will fix this: http://raptorracing.com/toyota-mkii-supra/mk2-suspension/raptor-racing-rear-camber-mod-bracket-kit-free-shipping
Designed for MA61 Supra but crosscompatible as most things are with those cars.

Jacobxxx

Stopel posted those plans on here for free a while back for those camber arms. Also I think marv has a set of subframe risers for sale too

djconfig
8th July 2014, 01:37 PM
there pritty shitty pumps Patrick, any idea how long electronic facet pumps last?
I might invest it a set of them, thanks for the link

patrickleslie
8th July 2014, 08:16 PM
Jacob is right, if there are plans available here for the camber mod then that might bethe way to go if convenience isn't a problem. There is a bit of welding involved anyway so you might as well do the whole thing

I never tried an electric pump, i blew the headgasket twice, wrecked the car, and now have a Supra haha Youll need an electric pump for ghe 3S anyway. Do people still use Bosch and Walbro? Toyota parts are the quietest imo, a JZA80 pump ought to do it

djconfig
8th July 2014, 08:40 PM
once its going ill start looking in to more of that stuff haha (:

yeah i just got a Facet solid state lift pump that will put fuel in to a serge tank and then a bosch 044 pump to the engine.

Had to cut a hole in the fire wall to fir the dizzy, would have liked to do a relocation or 5sfe coilpacks but this was the easiest way.
