Hi was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this car, as in engine figures, general things to look out for, how much there worth ect.
Ive had a look around but cant seem to find much.
There is one for sale locally with 166***kms, 6mths rego, 18" rims, maroon interior for $4500.

Any info would be good cheers.

i only found some stuff on wiki bout em but they sound pretty cool! 4.5 seems quite reasonable, if you've got the money it'd make a sweet daily

No such thing as a MX81 with 1G-FE unless it was a conversion. Otherwise what does the M stand for? I am a Toymods geek.

You mean GX81? Some also with 1G-GE, or 1G-GZE or 1G-GTE motors.

It looks the same as a MX83 but has foglights, avante on the grill, a front lip, Chaser on the back between tailights and 2lt 6 cylinder 1G-FE engine.

if it is auto then thats probably the most you would want to pay for it, if its manual however, thats a pretty good deal!

If you were going to import one, you would try and get a 1G-GTE one at least. I guess they are all chopped up for 1/2 cuts by now.

A friend has a GX71 with 1G-E. Putting 1G-GTE in now.

1G-FE

1G-FEThe DOHC 1G-FE uses a narrow valve angle and other fuel economy optimizations. It was introduced in 1988. Output was 135 hp (101 kW) at 5600 rpm and 130 ft·lbf (176 Nm) at 4400 rpm. In 1998 VVT-i was added, which bumped output to 160 hp (119 kW) at 6200 rpm and 148 ft·lbf (200 Nm) at 4400 rpm for the Toyota Altezza/Lexus IS 200, Toyota Crown, Toyota Chaser, Toyota Mark II, and Toyota Cresta.

4th Generation (1989-1992)

4th ChaserIn 1989, the X81 series of Chasers were introduced to the Japanese market. The following models were offered: XL, XG, Raffine, SXL, Avante, Avante Twin Cam 24, GT Twin Turbo and Avante G, with the GT Twin Turbo model the most powerful variant, powered by the 1G-GTE engine putting out 210 PS (207 hp/154 kW) at 6200 rpm. The Avante G model was the highest special edition model in terms of equipment. In August 1989, 2 more models were added to the Avante lineup: the Avante G-L, an even more luxurious model of the Avante G (which was already highly equipped for a car of the time), and the new Avante G, with a 3.0L normally-aspirated 7M-GE engine replacing the 2.0L supercharged 1G-GZE from the previous model.

I have a GX81 Manual, mint as and only paid 5g's. They're really just like a cooler MX83 cressida. Best daily ever.
