Looks like Cosworth are coming to the party to join HKS, Nengun, TRD and Greddy to make parts for the Toyota 86.

Much like some of the competitors, they are offering packages consisting of Exhausts, headers and over pipes combined with an ECU reflash that guarentee an increase in HP.

If you haven't heard of Cosworth, they have been around for years and developed and are a located in Northhampton in the UK. Allot of 30-40 year olds will relate them to the Ford Sierras that ran in the V8 Supercar series.

Cosworth are a serious player who will do good things to the Toyota 86 and force the other players to lift their game.

Looks like MRT will be the exclusive dealer in the Cosworth kits.

Middleton told motoring.com.au that local pricing "varies with exchange rate and we are currently finalising pricing".

The packages add a small number of new parts to the 86/BRZ, the basic stage 1.1 package comprising a polished stainless-steel cat-back sports exhaust system, high-flow air filter and an ECU tweak that hikes power by 17 kilowatts to 164kW.

Cosworth says the packages were developed "using the same methods employed in Formula One and sports car racing" and has crafted the entire range of upgrades packs to be forwards compatible. The idea of a staged approach gives customers an "affordable path to upgrade their vehicles" according to Cosworth.

Stage 1.2 adds an 'overpipe' or front exhaust with a spherical resonator and matching ECU tweaks to boost power to 167kW, while stage 1.3 adds a tubular exhaust manifold with thermal ceramic coating and further ECU calibrations to reach 171kW.

Thing I want most is cams. It's taking forever for people to make me some 272s. Everyone is too busy with FI to care about NA. And all the tuners who do care are waiting for someone else to do cams first so they can just copy them and not spend as much money on R&D.
