Thought id start up a build thread for this to try and keep myself motivated to get this thing finished
First post will be whats happened in the last year and second about where its at today
Bought this about a year ago with the intentions of putting my built 4age into.

Specs when i first bought it :
160,000kms
1.6l
4ac
5 speed
king low springs
twin cam front shocks
twin cam front and rear brakes
twin cam master cyclinder
twin cam steering wheel, tacho and grill
13 inch stockies

Drove it around for a few months with the 4ac in it while looking for a wrecked twin cam donor car.
finally a twin cam seca very cheap with 120,000kms on the clock. It had been hit hard on the drivers side, surprisingly still drove straight even after the hit.
the day i bought the wreck the 4ac motor suddenly just died on me, no noises or nothing and then would not start again. started pulling out the 4ac after about an hour of trying to figure out what was going on with it. when i finally took the rocker cover off the 4ac it turns out the last owner had dropped a bolt into the oil fill hole and it was bouncing around inside the head occasionally and then finally jammed itself inbetween the cam and head.

Next was stripping both the seca and my blue one down to start swapping over all the twin cam parts into my car.http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/1/7/0/539761.jpg (http://s56.photobucket.com/user/chrisrundell69/media/ae82/DSC_0226_1_zpsdoucdnqe.jpg.html)http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/1/7/0/539762.jpg (http://s56.photobucket.com/user/chrisrundell69/media/ae82/1394603758994_zpsjch3clqu.jpg.html)

I had to use the following to upgrade from the carby 4ac to efi 4age
Parts needed:
All front wiring looms, dash, lights, engine, all fuseboxs etc
front thermo fans (twin cam has one on the front one on the inside of radiator, 4ac has both on inside)
obviously engine, gearbox twin cam cv shafts (single cam are smaller)
Efi fuel tank
Efi fuel lines

i then split the 4age and gearbox and removed everything and gave it a bit of a clean upand then bolted the gearbox, all the fwd accessories and water pipes up to my built 4age and got it ready to drop in

wiring was fairly simple as i basically just swapped all the wiring over from the twin cam except the rear lights loom
kicked over first go and adjusted the timing to as close as i could get it for now, then fixed a few small coolant leaks.

Still need to get a new exhaust made up and put all the interior back together. full specs in next post

Super tidy rig! That'd make an amazing little daily drive car. It's definitely asking for a subtle set of wheels though.

Thanks guys, yeah its a super fun little daily car. Wheels are definitely on the to do list, still trying to decide what wheels i wanna run. Some nice 14x7-7.5 mk2 or mk3 ssrs are looking like what i want at the moment but hard to find in 4x100. Also planning on getting an aftermarket ecu and ITBs in the future but we will see what happens

Sweet ride!

Where did you get the adjustable rear bar and rear strut brace from? I didn't think they made them anymore.
