Alright
I cant help myself

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/3/5/19256.jpg

I'm excited

What I hope to do, minus the fender mirrors.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/3/5/19257.jpg

So I have bought this of a nice fella by the name of Leo off toymods,
I have also inherited my grandfathers 77 model, but that is Newcastle, and has alot of rust, so whether I keep it or not I am not sure.

I am also thinking about a manual wagon, if it hasn't gone to the tip, I only really want it for the manual, so if I can secure it it will be up for grabs rather cheaply.

So this is going to be my new daily, once it is tidied up and regoed. It will also be the muel to drag the spooner around.

So, keep watching

Cheers
Rhys

So.

I went for a drive today and came home with my precious MX32.

Once home, I put a battery in it, topped up the oil, poured some E10 down the carb, and she fired first kick.

and I'm in love.

I let her idle, only had four cylinders, after a minute or so, I gave her a nice rev,and got 5, ran the auto through the gears, dropped her in last, and bought her up on stall. Stepped of to let her idle and she gave me all six, smooth as silk.

So I pumped the brake up, and managed to get enough of a pedal to stop her if I needed to. Dropped the hand brake and rolled away from the gutter.

We weren't managing to go any where to quickly, though she was getting more confident, and started to show me what fury she had left in her, another couple of laps, and she knew I was going to treat her special, and bang.

4000rpm, she's alive.

So my new baby is here, and I am turly in love with her, so its time to get to know her, give her a bit of love.

Today's plan.

Give her the first wash she has had for a year.
Give her a service, oil, and filter, coolant, tranny service bleed brakes, replace diff oil, replace plugs, and a new airfilter.

Rear brakes will be done today, I have to order new pads, I'm hoping they are just RA60 items, as the front struts are the same.

I will get a blue slip sometime this week, and then get registered within the next 2.

The Body does need a bit more work than I had anticipated, with a few rust spots I didn't spot earlier. They are a bit of a concern, especially the spot near the lower left hand side of the windscreen. This will be fixed when she goes into paint.

Within a month she will be low, this new law does have me a little concerned though, but as I like to say, FUCK EM, COME GET ME. Luckily though RA60 bits work in the front which also means spooner stuff does, but I think I will become a friend of AJPS, as I no one else seems to stock the right bits.

I have to find a set of SSR Mk III's, 15x8 0 offset on the front, with 15x8 -25 or -30 on the rear, supposedly this will set them flush, with no lipping of the gaurds.

I have opted to keep the 4M in place for the time being, the 1UZ will happen one day, thats if the GEN 3 doesn't beat it. I have decided to buy the wagon, if not just the manual conversion. The 4M, will sport extractors, that will be a pair of 3-1, then in to a pair of 1.75" pipes, then a muffler per pipe, and gthats it, performance isn't the aim, but a mean exhaust note is, luckily as it is a 79 model, it doesn't requier cats to be fitted.

I have a trick I did on my old AE111, where I fitted a vacuum line just after the extractmores collector, this cause a vacuum, within the vacuum line (funny that ay) and introduces air into the exhaust system, this supplies just enough oxygen to ignite any unburnt fuel, which results in flamage on decel.

She will then go for paint, either cherry black, or purple. I have decided, I will spend the money on a good job, while I'm earning alot (gotta love this insulation boom, I'm makin 6 times what I do as a mechanic)

The interior will be done in black, and woodgrain, I stumbled across a few pics of a black jdm interior, and oddly enough, it took me back to the days of my dad's HQ monaro, where my love for all things automotive started.
I have ordered a woodgrain Nardi wheel for it, which shuld be here in 2-3weeks.

This will be the first car I will be fitting a stereo to, i will not be cutting any holes, the head unit will be double sided taped in under the glovebox. Unfortunately, the rear parcel shelf has been cut, to fir clarion 4 inch speakers, so I am looking for an uncut, (you see one, tell me asap, or buy it and sell it to me, I will pay whatever) The rest of stereo, will consist, of 4, 6 inch splitters, an amp to run them, and an amp to run the 10 inch sub in the boot.

I'll tint the windows, and I think I will be done, all she needs now is a name. Once she has a name, I can change the title of this thread, so give me some idea's

Cheers
Rhys

I found a mint parcel shelf, and a fuse holder, cause some dodgey prick didged it for the radio which doesn't work

fuckin cool man

I need to find ssr mkIII's in 15x8 -10 and 15x9 -40, anyone have any?

Gunner
3rd August 2009, 09:14 PM
so I had a good look into my factory radio problem today, while I had some free time.

I have discovered the dodgey wiring is far far worse than first thought. Someone at some point in time, had attempted to fit an aftermarket stereo, and has absolutely destroyed the factory harness, to the point where I have no factory harness, no plug, nothing.

All i have been able to locate is the acc. power, so I will have to fabricate a new harness, which really sucks, as I wanted to have the factory radio operational, as well as an aftermarket unit.

I also finished the tune up on it today, well I still need to do the brakes. Anyway, after adjusting tappets, points and timing, she now moves her ass, and can even manage a skid.

All that is required for rego, is front pads (didn't realise she had twin potters on the front till today) bleed the brakes, fix the cracked muffler and wipers, and we will be on the road.

Still haven't been able to source my mkIIIs, so any help with that would be appreciated, she will be slammed on her bum within the next few weeks, thanks to the lowering law being postponed, and AJPS (if he replies to my pm).

I will be using RA60 springs, with kyb inserts in the front, and 86 springs and excel g shockies, and RA60 panhard in the bum. Dont have any idea how low it will be, but it will be loooow.

Anyway thats it for now, for the few of you interested.

new pics should be up tomorrow or wednesday.

unfortunately if I go too much lower I wont get out off my driveway.

You could properly get them widened...

looking good gunner. just to let you know these cressys have a different spring seat (on the front at least) to ra60s so springs out of them won't work, from what i've seen the xt130/rt132 coronas have the same spring seat, but if you're going coilovers none of this matters. have a look here for brakes if you feel like upgrading; http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13803 i know for a fact that that setup will go onto an mx32 strut just as easily as it does an rt132 or xt130 strut. when you grabbing those bits off me bud?

Gunner
10th August 2009, 11:05 PM
Well old school, I think it will have to be sunday, as I will be late at work all week by the looks of it, pm me your mob number, and I'll call you if I get the chance, and we will sus it out.

The 86 springs dont fit either, the seat on a t series is larger, dunno out s series though, so I do need rear springs

AJPS, I will get the rca's and panhard, and most likely rear springs from you hopefully, this week sometime, if not next.

I will either go ssr reverse mesh, or mkIII's if they come up for a good price.

The front I should be able to get away woth 0 to -10 offset, the rears atleast need -25

Gunner
10th August 2009, 11:06 PM
oh and thanks for the comments guys, and it's not that clean, needs some sweet love, dick in the exhaust pipe should do it lol.
