Looks like an old thread haha just thought of it as a good read,
Once i get some cash flow ill be aiming for 150 hp at the fly. just gunna go piggyback ecu, 265 duration and 8.5 mm lift cams. 2.25 zorst, 4-2-1 extractors. and some form of better induction on my bigport. It'll sound a bit lumpy but still be very driveable im guessing.

in terms of no 20v info there im assuming that if i follow the 190 - 200hp section it should be a little bit easier to make that kinda power

If you want 20v info, you post questions and hope Sam finds them :P

Thanks Sam, but while I am a fan of the 20v, one cannot know all, so I'm sure that a collective of different peoples information is the best.

btw, I have lined up an off road buggy fitted with a lightly modded 20V (ST, cams, autronic etc) to go on the dyno,I'll post results when done.

toyota must of employed frak and sam q to develop the 20v.

frak: while it is true one can not know all, you as one know a whole lot more than me. People have a false feeling of grandeur about my knowledge on here

Chaos man: If I designed it it would be interesting indeed! it would be a superior 4V design with angled squish zones and a matching piston quench shape. Ah and don't worry no-one probably just understood what I just said either.

Sam, that probably has more to do with my age, I guess on average I'm probably twice as old as the average AE86DC'er.

Sam-Q
25th October 2009, 09:57 PM
yeah and your workshop experience. I guess the same goes for me to a lesser extent, hence why I changed my user description under my name on the left hand side for comic value.

Actually Sam, I just got a long overdue addition to the workshop. For years I've been using other peoples Lathes/mills etc, I just got my self a nice Hercus lathe with milling attachments etc etc, it's a real beauty :-)

I absolutely love fabrication, back when I first become an apprentice mechanic I actually tried to get a fitting and turning apprenticeship.

P.S. I checked out your website, real good

Sam-Q

Hercus eh? funny you mention that:

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/2/5/2/26690.jpg

made between 1952 and 54! I just finished putting it back together after I gave it a bit of a reco, I just need to rig up a custom forward reverse switch with an emergency stop.

Thanks for the compliment, my lathe info will be on there soon enough too.

Anyway we are getting really off topic

either of you toyota nerds know the part numbers for silvertop 4age conrod bearings, main bearings, piston rings, and seals and whether or not sprint auto parts will be able to supply them?

Sam-Q

I only have some acl numbers:
