Hi, guys:

Im looking an ae86 at the moment, and there had a car on sale but havent been passed the regency, so before I make the desicion to purchase I wanna know few hints if any expert may answer it? :worried:

1. it s a 85 model (the car can be found in SALE section) with intruction bar fitted, so anythin else need to done before passing the regency? the car seems quite far away from stardard, so I want to know some main parts the regency staff will be focusing on to inspect.

2. any specialised mechanic in town on doing AE86 work?

:S hope dumb questions may find answer!

very very hard to get cars through regancey these days theyll fail you for loose nuts and bolts NOTHING at all can be moded even cutting the brake hose thing where it clips to the strut wont get through

be very carful

note alway bring a tool bag in the boot incase you do miss a very minor thing

I'm buying Sprinter off a Mate next week.

I plan to overhaul it completely (including respray). If they don't let me through the first time I'll be disappointed.

We get all our stuff from BuddyParts on South Road (near Sturt). So +1 to him.

Depends on the guy you get. I had one dude do me for a small split in my rack boot. I had another dude do me for fucked brake lines, I went to buy some lines from sprints and they were out of stock, so I ordered some and he passed me that afternoon because of the receipt...

yeah my brother got sent away cuz the little c-clip that HELPS hold the brake line though that hole was missing, just the one... really depends on who you get, the next time he went through the guy was heaps chatty and was discussing rollas with him.

Think about it though, unrestrained brakeline (on the front I assume) you are constantly rotating the strut which is meant to restrain the hose in position securely allowing pivot and rotation of the rubber only.
hose's can and do move when they are restrained let alone unrestrained.
The guy at Regency had every right to defect it.
Same goes for things like brake hoses with cracks in the outer cover, they dont last too long when water gets through the outer cover to the braid.
Can't put a price on safety.
