    Default Wolverine

    So lets start again...

I bought the car about 11months ago just basically a fun weekend car as i had been building a off chops onevia for two years and had grown very sour towards nissans! So i just want a car to do the odd track days and basically just a fun NA Trueno was what i had my heart set on so that i could clean it up and maybe one day pass onto my children (when i have some lol)

So this is what i got!

its basically a 1986 Kouki Trueno Hatch! One of the Irishmans Imports! So its gotta be good.

    Specs:
    INTERIOR:
nardi dished steering wheel with nardi boss kit.
jdm dash (Black. With no cracks)
    g4 hydrolic handbrake
defi water temp gage with control unit/

    ENGINE:
pretty much stock 4age (only 109,000 kms
    4.2.1 extractors
    trust exhaust.
pod filter enclosed with a carbon fiber box (so its legal)
    excedy heavy duty clutch.

    EXTERIOR:
    jdm front lip.
brand new respray. (poor one at that teehee.gif )
    original trd duck wing.
    wantanabee spare wheel.
    casablanca wheels 14x7 (With dish)
    alfa romao disc brakes
    re-built calipers
    2 way lsd

    SUSPENSION:
    Cusco colilovers (front)
    trd green struts (rear)
    cusco camber tops
after market sway bars front and rear.

It looked like this when i got it off the OG owner...

Ahh yer i cant be assed going right through it all again. Im sure we all know what it once looked like and where its heading.. So here is the latest of updates the car is nearly done..

    Update:

    Fuel system done!
    Cooling System Done!
    Gauge and control unit done!
    Suspension 80% done
Engine bay is nearly done just awaiting a banjo bolt for the turbo oil feed line, plug leads and a -10 90 degree angle fitting for the oil cooler.

    Pics and comments..

This is the obviously where the lines meet up to the fuel rail on the engine. You can also See in one of the pics the race flow ezy fuel filter.

This pic you can see one of the fuel pumps and the surge tank and yes that's next to the muffler.

Now to overcome the obvious heating problem i constructed a alloy heat shield/box thingy, using our new bender hehe

    First is my cardboard template

Then the Main structure of the box all bent up.

And then the front part that closes of the box from shredded tire, i left the back open so it can vent air easily.

Also my once Levin now Trueno Bonnet returned from the FRP man! Thanks Jeff! All ready to be preped for paint!

Now ive been finishing off the engine bay as of late and after receveing my Radiator of a certain Alloy radiator maker i wasnt to happy with the "so-not-made-for-a-sprinter" like stated. So i made it fit. In there you can also see where i stuck the oil cooler. My idea is to turn this section of the front to a directed wind tunnel.

So the rad support is missing. So i whipped this up its a bit of a 2 for 1 deal. Im sure you can all work out how it works. Or suppose to work for better terms...

Now to keep the theme going of combo mods. I made up a new rad support or sorts That also holds the radiator in and the oil filter relocator.

Now the alloy rad plate was a lil shabby from making it with the power tools and the bender and folder so i thought id give polishing ago while i was waiting for things to dry. Here you can see the difference of before and after a 10min polish on the bench polisher.

After a hour of polishing and looking like a homeless person

    One the car.

Here you can see everything working together

Shot of the engines current state. like i said before just waiting on coil leads then the Electrician will finish off what he started then BAM! We will fire her up.

Just a quick shot of the oilcooler's view of things

    Parts im waiting on

    MY WHEELS
    TRACTION BRACKETS
    Tailshaft to be mod'ed
    Willwood brakes
    Rear Brake mounting plates
Thats basically the next thing to do, Finish the braking system
    T3 Pulley Kit
And a few things here and there.

Shits getting close! I cant wait to hit this thing!

    Still planning on streeting her?

Who was the one who thought out the bracing in the engine bay? Seems a bit of a hit or miss setup.

Yes for streeting.. though i dont drive everyday so..

bracing was thought out by me, i discussed these braces with my old man and Beau with the N2 Ae86. We worked out the correct points to place the tube and also the right thickness so that it will only decrease flex and if the front end does have a impact these tubes would snap thus allowing the body/chassis to do what it was designed to do in such a impact.

    Though that is the theory

    Ahh thats sweet.

I was thinking that they maybe only good for front enders. But snapping is something i havent heard of before, gonna have a look into it when i do mine.

Have you seam welded the underbody?

Nah i didnt i was never planning on going this stupid on the car. If i had planned to i may have. I dont really like it though, If you do have a crash its real hard to fix afterwards, Atleast with the tubes they can be cut out while you straighten it then move on.

If you need any help when you do yours just give me a yell.

Superlights 15 x 8 -4 I could have bought some Jap wheels but the way the market is at the moment i couldnt justify the cost just for some added street cred. I got 8 superlights for less then it would have cost me to buy Watanbes or something of the same sizing.

Thanks for the comments, like i said i never planned for this build to blow out this much, i only planned to paint it and wack a turbo engine in, but you know how it goes you start modding and then you cant stop..lol

Well got some work done today... not as much as i would have liked. Had to do the couple thing last night and go see fireworks and all that bullshit.. I think there was some celebration on i dunno.. 8)

I spent alot of the day helping my old man work on some other jobs so i didnt get stuck into mine until the arvo plus i had a mega sleep in and yer.. so not enough done in my books plus i have to go to work tomorrow!! :x

So i finished securing the fuel lines as you can see here..

I also did a job i was dreading a lil.. thats the gas pedal the orginal owner of the engine was running a weird throttle cable that didnt quite fit so i was trying to make it work safely. I also didnt like the bracket he'd made coming off the throttle body so i made a new one out of alloy. I think its pretty alright..

While i was under the car i snapped these pics. This is the second pump.

And a shot of the Greddy rear suspension. Note the fuel lines there they go to the pump and serge, yes there are zip ties and yes it looks dodge but i havent finished constructing a lil plate that goes around them

Heres a pic of the once useless D2 Hydro Handbrake that was in the car. Im currently making the thing work by giving it, its own cailpers and resvior (ae86 clutch master), And what im also attaching to the body is my willwood bias adjuster for the normal brakes.

    Pic of the res

In this pic i have made up a rough bracket to hold the bias in a easy to get to spot and i also extended and bent the handbrake lever for easy-ness and more leverage.

I did a bunch of other things inside the car but they are only lil things and im sure i have bored you all enough...
