4AGZE Alternator bracket.

Hey everyone.

Well I got my self a GZE to go into my ae71 and obviously i have to make a different alternator bracket to move the alternator up a bit.
So i went to have a look at the situation and the motor I have has already got some home made abortion on it hahaha

So it got me to thinking, if people post up some pics of the brackets they made.
We could work out which seems the best and then if the winner will make a rough sketch with some measurements, I can do up a set of production quality CAD drawings and post them up here.

Also it saves me having to wait till my motor is actually in the car before working out what actually needs to be done with the bracket!
Just cos it will be one less thing to worry about if i have already done it before I start the swap!

Recently did AW11 4agze setup. Uses a 4age alternator and sits it up high near the dizzy/cas. I needed this setup to run my ac compressor.

Bracket cost me $20 with the idler. You need to get a small slider bracket up the top to fit the 4age alternator (the top mount on 4agze alternators point/curve in the opposite direction). The aw11 4agze bracket has a tapped thread in which you can bolt your top slider bracket to neatly

Here is a pic for now, if you want some more detailed pics ill take them for you but i'm going to make a write up for the whole gze -> rwd process.



Note, you can also use the tensioner without the ac compressor there, it will still work and tension the belt (obviously a shorter belt is required).

I am in the process of making a batch of exhaust side alternator brackets with an integral tensioner if your interested in that.

Yeh id be keen on that. My setup keeps breaking the bolt and yer not so good hehe

How long till these are ready?

unfortunetly not for a quite a few weeks. I have quite a big list of things I need to knock down first.

What i was told and did:

4afe bottom bracket (bolts right on), RB30 top bracket - you will have to cut a bit out of your alternator to suit the 4afe and you will have to weld a bit to mount the Rb30 bracket.

Peice of piss though and it works a treat!
