penrite running in oil?....
lol name says it all
CAR - Suzuki Swift GTi
MOTOR -G13B 16 Valve
USE -Daily.
PROBLEM/QUESTION - I am just finishing up a rebuild on my daily (new bearings, rings, seals etc) and I'm unsure what oil to use to run it in. The engine is very similar in design to a 4A. I'm going to fill it up with cheap 15w30 oil, run it for 15 minutes to get contaminants out, then go from there. What is a good grade to use? I'm only going to run it for 1000k's, then just go back to my usual oil.

dose
I would say 15-40 would be spot on, Im using a 20w50 in my 4age to run in, only got about 100km left before I dump the oil and put some fresssh stuff in.
Just make sure its plain mineral, not synthetic

Never heard of it, will check it out though. 15w40 Magnatec is what i will be using after the run-in period, as long as its not too thin i should be alright. Thanks
proper run in oil doesnt contain zinc. normal engine oil does. so if you want to run it in properly dont use normal engine oil, get the proper oil
