    Default ae71 auto -> manual

    This is just a parts list and the couple of things that caught me out along the way. If I've missed anything feel free to add it in. I havent seen a complete post on here yet of this, just bits and pieces. Sorry if I missed it, and hopefully this stops all the what do I need questions like I posted.

    ae71 must haves..

    - t50 gearbox crossmember
    - tailshaft

    stealable items from ae86/ae71

    - 4ac Flywheel (6bolt and ???mm)
    - clutch
    - t50 gearbox, thrust throwout fork, shifter and bellhousing
    - hard clutch line, flex connection and slave cylinder
    - gearbox->block gussets from a manual 4ac
    - pedal box and master cylinder
    - a few random bellhousing bolts of various lengths never goes astray from memory I did need to replace a couple.
    - starter motor or spacer for the auto on

    Must buys

    - Spigot bearing. pn 6001
    - Thrust bearing pn ????
    - Gearbox oil
    - Clutch Fluid
    - Gasket's/goo if you remove your exhaust
    - Gregory's Manual

    Tools
    10,12,14,and 17mm sockets, extensions, and spanners, screwdrivers, pliers Axle stands, oil pump, oil catch bucket, Torque wrench, Breaker Bar. Clutch Aligning tool, Clutch Bleed Kit.

    The bolts on the back of the head were F%^&ing tight, put one spanner on them and the loop the ring around another to crack it (only if you have quality tools) or if you have enough extensions use a super long extension bar from your breaker bar with a knuckle on the end.

    The thicker two wires from the auto box which are black and white are your safety switch, bridge the two and tie out of the way, or run to a switch inside your car as a dodgy immobiliser.

    The pink and green wires from the auto box are your reverse lights

    The bellhousing of the auto is probably full of oil, be mind full you dont dump it on the nice concrete driveway of your rented house

    I used the clutch pedal and master from an ae86, lining it up was a prick as was putting the top bolt in the brace of the box but it does work for those of you that dont like the idea of the inflated ae71 manual box prices and can "adapt" stuff to suit.

    I cut the old auto shifter apart and rebolted the base plate back into the car, then with an old bit of sheet cut to suit the shifter and riveted to the old plate to stop most road noise.

    I was told the auto starter motor wont work, I used a spacer a mate had floating around, or grab one off a manual car as well

    Hope that helps, if I've missed anything or you've done something differently add it in!
