Jack rear up
Place on jack stands
Unbolt shocks and slide off mounts
Should be able to remove springs now
Place new springs in now
Jack diff up until it is easy to bolt shocks back up
You should be able to figure out the rest
Pretty easy
ok so car is booked in tomorow to have an exhaust leek fixed
And also a small service to fix the rattly engine noise.
Probelly timing chain, valve clearences or sumtin.
Just a question what's involved with changing rear springs and shocks?
Do you have to drop the diff or what.
I'm not totally sure...

Dude I have a whole AE86 brake front brake set up sitting in the shed if you want it. Worked fine when it was on my car, but been sitting in my shed for 3 years or so. $50 and im in SA.
Also got 6kg rear springs, nice height, $100 if you change your mind. really 8/6kg front and rear are the way to go, I personally wouldnt go any softer.
8-6 is good for track and hills thrasher but for a daily 8-6kg to stiff 5kg rears perfect imo. But end of the day everyone wants diferent things from there car so yeah trial and error.
exactly right. Its my daily so just want it to be in good working order.
And also have some fun in it, as I feel this setup will be a good balance.
Like yesterday had some spare time so went for a casual drive up through
Inglewood, Paracombe and Tea Tree Gully.
And it was no different, the car could really do with a nice simple setup.
Going through some low speed twistys it just feels unsafe.
It also understeers a bit, mainly when your decending.
So thats really all I want to acheive at the mo.
Its my first car and im learning how to drive it.
Ive reached the cars stock limit, and now I want to extend it and reach it again.

ok so got me some rotors and calipers.
rotors are fair bit rusty so looks like i may have to get them machined a mm or two.
anyone shed some light onto how much this is gonna cost me?
was thinking of getting em done by power brakes...
once thats done all i need are those things that go between the strut and ball joint.
forgot what they called...
and some new brake pads...

ok so today pulled out the 5speed and tail shaft out of the parts car.
Was a bitch and a halve doing it on my own with the car on ramps.
But eventually got there...
When it goes in ill be using a hoist so all good from now on heheh...
Any idea if I can get like some sort of rebuild kit for a K50?
or replacement rubbers or a shift rebuild kit...
All going well, gonna chuck everything in at the same time so car will be off the road for as little time as possible...
