Supposedly good for the standard injection/ignition and valvetrain, but I got new valve springs anyway.
So what cam did you get? Im planning to get the Gruntier type that's 10 degrees extra duration but makes a lot more torque and runs on the stock ecu. Like the 4wd guys get to turn bigger tyres.

Yeah thats the one I was into. Cant wait for your assessment of how it goes.
For sure. You're not the only one anxious to see how it goes, haha. Could be a little while off since I need to finish off the sardine tin first before I pull the Celica apart.
Did a bit of reading and after some discussion with a mate, we decided that the factory intake ports are shithouse, so I'm gonna spend a bit more time on the head than initially anticipated. The result should open up the top end above 4,500RPM and notably more power.
I guess this means it won't really be a fair comparison with a standard motor with a cam upgrade anymore though. shows how much the standard late 22R heads choke up at about 130CFM. I'm hoping to end up with something that compares similarly to the "Stage 3" head.
WHat ecu are you using? Youre going to find the EFI pretty limited I think. Hopefully the stock afm will judge it close enough.
Standard initially, but Megasquirt later. I think the standard AFM should handle it for the time being, but it'll obviously choke the motor a bit, which I'm okay with to start out. I'll see how it goes and hopefully it doesn't lean out in the top end.
Slight change of plans. Gonna rebuild a standard head to use for an intermediate stage, then build a separate head on the side with port work, etc. to install alongside a Megasquirt later on.
Wakka wakka wakka.
