Recommended Engine Workshop?
Hey guys, car is down on power.
Fairly sure its something related to valves/rings
as i have no limiter and needle has gone off the taco a few times
and compression is well down.
Gonna take the head off myself
Can anyone recommend a place that i can take the complete head to and tell me what needs fixing/replacing?
Keep in mind its a stock bigport, so just want it looked at because its not worth commiting to some 6grand rebuild (my mate just got quoted that much from 2 different places LOLLLL)

i have always used wynnum engine reconditions? i think its called
its right next to wynnum central train station and it is apart of the mechanic that is next door. "harpers" is the last name of the family that runs it.

AL'S engines is preety good. we use them through work. might be worth looking him up and giving him a call and having a chat?
I had my 20V head reco'd @ Torque Automotive in Mansfield. They were pretty good.
i spose i should also ask, what is compression usually around?
stock bigport, been worked fair hard lol... i thought perfect specs were like 160? but what do people usually see/get?
+1 for Al's Engines, good bloke, speak to al himself. he did all my machining and shit for 7age

also, its 1am and im STILL AT WORK
MY 4ac was compression tested when i found out it had fucked piston rings and hg at 130ish on the first three cylinders and 160 on the last one.
