Default turbo 20v on stock internals...

anyone done this, and if so, what sorta boost, power levels and how much life did you get out of it??
having seen one pulled down they have fairy strong internals, and silvertops have 10.5:1 comp, which isn't too bad for a low boost application.
just interested, thought some others might be as well. for what i need (more midrange and another 20-30kw, it's just not worth putting gze pistons in it.
sharing your opinions and experiences would be appreciated
    cheers!

ive done it, to a ST 20V using an IHI turbo (similar size to a T28 off an SR) i didnt open the motor up at all either, i knew it was healthy as i had run it NA for ages with no drama;s. I fabbed up intake and exhaust manifolds and got all the lines made up. bolted on and then was running a microtech. Tuned it all up and made 140 rwkw on 8-9 psi which is where i left it.

car was quite an animal then, in my case it was a fair bit too laggy for what i wanted, but that could have been changed by swapping the turbo. however once on boost it bloody hauled.

thats heaps of power for what you had done
i'm currently running a st20v with a haltech e6x, makes 88rwkw on a safe tune (sees a drift session at least twice a month, so it has fairly conservative timing) and i just want around the 120ish mark on 10psi
can't see why some 1j injectors, manifolds (i'll make the exhaust but inlet i'm a bit stuck on) and a t28 shouldn't make it happen

yeah inlet wasnt easy, i made mine myself. heres a pic of ur interested.

fwiw my 20V when NA made 90 rwkw, and i ran more timing then most, also got the shit thrashed out of it. never had a prob, they are great motors hey!

Beau yates ran an un opened BT motor with T28 on it for ages back when his car was fairly basic. i drove it down our street when he came over for an Adelaide comp and the thing was awesome... massively responsive and plenty of power was a better set up then mine but i pout that down to turbo choice and better tune. However beau did pop a few motors back then... so the ST is the way to go if ur boosting with stock internals.

suppose, you don't need a plenum as it's before the throttle bodies, gtr spec, something similar sized would be fine.

I used a GTiR plenum cover on a backing plate, bolted to quads.
