oh yeah!!! The jaw dropper was when they didn't replace the rim that was quite obviously damaged in the accident as the assessor said I'd probaby end up kerbing the rim anyway so it was going to end up looking like that!

frak your the first person i've heard of thats had a issue with shannons. my 86 is insured with racv, looking at going back to shannons because the payout with racv is only 2k.
still i pay $300 a year for full comp and shannons want 1k for an agreed value

Once I had a claim, and started asking around, I had plenty of people telling me of their Shannons horror stories! I guess you never really know how good an insurance company is until you have to make a claim, I heard here in SA that they now have another assessor and the assessor I dealt with has been given a talking to as there were numerous complaints against him.

its unfortunate for me to say this jamie but i know exactly what your talking about. up until aout 18mths ago i worked at shannons and at the time they completely changed the claims process and it wasnt to benefit the client in anyway.
i too have heard some horror stories of late, and even talking to mates who still work there tell me its not the same place it used to be...

in terms of cover, you wont find better and the fact they actually know what they are talking about. but the claims experiance is leaves a lot to be desired as of late...
