silver top is meant to be the stronger of the two 20v. but i would just buy a 4agze bottom end and put the 20v head on it you dont want to high compression of a na motor

If you have a 20V sitting there and are keen then do it. It is possible and if done well should go damn hard.

    The things to remember are:
    - As mentioned, if you keep the quads AFTER the SC then you'll beed a blow off valve. Many people will tell you it's not good running throttles post-SC, but it can be done.
    - You'll need aftermarket management.
    - Think about your pulley sizes so you get a safe SC speed. From memory(hazy, best check yourself), an SC14 is "safe" up to around 10,000rpm, so you'll need a fairly low ratio to keep it under that if you're revving the motor to 9000. The pulley ratio has a direct effect on boost too, so it'll be a balancing act.
    - Make some serious mounts for the SC.

Take a look at turbo 20Vs to get an idea of boost levels and plenums and so on. In the end going turbo may be easier, but there is nothing to stop you supercharging instead.

Just curious ppl... wouldnt the SC is a burden for 20V at high rev??

In my understanding, the SC will produce power at low-mid range rev, but during a high rev, 20V power output is at its peak, while SC power is dropped out. Since, SC operation is based on timing belt, so 20V must hold on to the SC operation, too.

I'm not sure if SC will make 20V lose its high rev characteristic...

I wouldn't bother with a PD charger. Get a twinscrew, expensive but totally worth it. 2x1l (1l intake, 5/8th litre output) makes 50psi and 1200hp on an SR, with a boost curve that's up high around 1200rpm or something stupid.

    Another engine with a twin screw was 20psi @ 1,500rpm and 26.5psi, 2~7krpm.

Maybe not the sort of boost you're looking for for an unopened 20v... but it'll make a shitload of power.

Yeah, that is pretty impressive, and If I had the budget I would probabley go for something like that.
I've been looking at Eaton M45 (of a 1.6L) and M62 (of a 2.0L) due to their price.
Truth be told I was going to turbo it and run low boost - 7psi max, but I have been given the SC14, so I will use it.
I figure I'll use one of Sam Q's GTIR plenium adaptors, GTIR plenium (with the factor BOV if it will fit under the bonnet), a GZE intercooler, some bigger injectors and I already have a razorback to run it all.
I'm not looking to win horsepower hero's, just want a little bit of extra poke!
