Great news, thanks. Ill give them the heads up when i take it in there and let them know that a small shim may be required and tell them about the bearing change to correct the adjustment also.

What is the Type 2 Torsen like MAtt? have you done much agggressive driving grip or drift with it? Thinking about one for my daily RT142 IRS F rear end.

That's track width, not mounting face to mounting face.

Having a chat with a mate today we were throwing ideas around to match the RA65 vented front setup on my corona with a disc rear (currently YR22 Tarago drums). Now i kow these F diffs have a different flange pattern to all the other f diffs but has anyone tried to bolt on RT142 IRS F series disc gear? Presuming the ol 8mm spacer ring woul be needed to be welded to the axle flange to space it out like usual disc conversions.

I have both IRS corona daily and the YR22 diff in my wagon so ill investigate this this weekend and post my findings. Could be a bolt on'ish disc upgrade that the YR22 has been lacking!

my disc conversion uses a yr22 housing with mx73 discs. mx73,ma61 and rt142irs all share the same design rear brakes. if you are not planing on running a hand brake it would be much easier, but my setup retains the handbrake.
firstly you bore the center of the backing plates out so it is big enough to have the yr22 axle bearing fit through. the backing plate is only as thick as the drum backing plate so there is no issue there.
then you re-drill the backing plate to match the diff flange, you do need a spacer on the axle between the flange and the bearing, i don't have the width but you could work it out fairly easily by measuring the distance of flange face to inner face of backing plate on both setups and spacing the yr22 to match the rt142
then it is as simple as making a caliper bracket which bolts to the backing plate and welding it to the flange, there are some photos here

One must wonder, if you have to do all that, you might as well start with some decent calipers to begin with, and make brackets for those instead. It would be just the same amount of work to get wilwoods on there as it would to put single piston semi floating non vented 1970s toyota brakes on there.

A wilwood wouldn't have been a bad idea, but its the rear brakes on a 900kg car so it would be a bit overkill, a complete brake package from an ma61 was a much cheaper option and is more than suffice to pull this little rig up
And the rotors I used are 269x18 vented, only the corona rotors are solid at 269x10 and then the ma61 is a bees dick smaller at 266x18 but is also vented

If it were me Id buy a wilwood caliper with the mechanical handbrake and use the MA61 rotor. I like the idea of vented rotors over solid at a bare minimum. I dont mean to knock you, just throwing out ideas, and wilwood calipers are so cheap to buy new.
