So yeah, cage and inside all painted. Thanks mainly to Aaron Martin for the cage, and Stew for painting it, and both do a top job. I did some work myself also of course. If you look hard enough you will always find sand or something in the floor. White can make all the welds and stuff stand out too much, but you can see there is no problem here.

It's a massive step forward, because I can assemble most of the car now. But the down side is the outside is not painted, and I have a few dents I'm probably not capable of sorting out myself.

    s14seriesII:
Your car is 038 mine is 041, a point I will bring up with the police if any Sprinter is seen in these parts mis-behaving. Both are AE86 colours. 038 was on 1983 cars, 041 was on later cars (mine is 1985). 038 and 041 are slightly cream. I am told 038 is more creamy, but it probably depends more on how old the paint is.

040 is what I call a plain normal "white white" and is on modern Corollas. It is not the whitest white, but it comes close.

061 is called Diamond White from memory, and is probably the brightest white. It is on modern Camrys.

Consider this. One of the most reliable cars with the least number of problems or oil leaks in all history, is the AE112 Corolla. I want to make my car like that. I use a similar oil cooler and clamps. Why would my car leak when the AE112 does not? I can't remember a oil line blowing off a cooler with the standard setup.

the hoses on the aus ae82 models had a screw/bolt type clamp jonny would be a shame to see one of those fail, but then again they have very little flow through them compaired to an after market oil cooler setup so would take a small time to empty out...
