Have you pushed it off a cliff in frustration yet? Or have you hibernated for the winter, balls all shriveled up?
I was passing through a small village (a collection of villages?) in the mountains, and found this in a shed:
An AE86 LEVIN! On closer inspection I see a full cage and harnesses.
Look at those wheels. Could this be?
But isn't that my number plate?
Oh dear. Now that is embarasing, in more than 1 way.
In hibernation I guess.
Need to get my daily driver/tow car sorted. A 1985 Subaru L wagon of all things, which I scored for very little. I hope it can tow a car trailer, will see.
Will tow the car to get the exhaust done.
Any ideas on exhaust? It will probably just be Kiazen extractors, 2-1/4" tubes press bent, a hotdog, and a Lukey copy dogleg or S bend muffler. Up and over the diff.

I used to have one of those Subaru L wagons and it was sluggish as all hell! I had a bit of trouble towing a small boat with mine! haha. Has it still got the standard EA81/82 motor in it?
Haven't checked your you thread in ages, It has really come together since I last saw it! Very nice attention to details with a twist of subtle sarcasm
is that quote from one of his "... to win" books? very handy references!!!
One of my fav quotes is "Your race car should be easier and more pleasant to drive than your street car. If it isn't, someone is doing something wrong."

A while ago when looking at the weight of the car and several other things, I knew power/weight ratio (and stiffness) was going to be important with my engine choice. Something owner builders never consider is human body weight, ie fat. But pro drivers do think about that (because they don't have to work on the car, but do want to keep their job). I looked into this a lot. It took a huge effort resurching and testing. The main problem is that body weight control is not something the general public are very good at, and my friends and family actually had the wrong advice for me. I looked at what V8 Supercar and F1 drivers ate and did for fitness. Craig Lowndes will run 10km a few times in the weeks before Bathurst, for example.
I came up against some massive hurdles. For example, at the V8 Supercar races it is sometimes very hard to buy the same food the drivers had. The drivers get a chicken salad sandwich while the public have to have meat pies and Coke. Not fair! Anyway...
I looked at how heavy pro drivers were compared to their height. Then looked at the height/weight of some pro athletes of other sports I do. Going off this, I worked out what average weight I should be (to be a pro F1 driver or athlete). lol
So then I became that weight.
It's summer, time to work on the car again I think.
Now that's dedication! That's an area I need to work on.
I don't fit into my seat comfortably anymore lol.
I have thought about that many times. But i find it hard to lose weight, i just gain muscle So I take an extra 20kg out of somewhere situated near me and its all good ahahahahaha.
At 173cm, I should be about 67 - 71kg. I could be over that tomorrow, everything changes from day to day. (Google weight for Jenson Button or Cadel Evans).
I think I could help others if they wanted to loose weight. I eat different food now, but my secret is running. I entered the BurnieTen now twice, a 10km run. Then I got the device show below, which is a massive sport in itself.
Done about 1800km now. Much of it around Mt Wellington (to the top once). It's an old man sport, which suits me fine as I am getting older.
Aside from weight, the real benifit is fitness etc... No more indigestion when working under the car! And maybe I could catch a tool theif running.
AE86:
Got rid of my wide race seat and bought a narrow one.
My 86 getting some sun next to it's stablemate. The yellow one is turbo but we both have our eye on Targa which requires an original N/A setup.
