    All fixed now.

    11mm worth of spacers. (5mm + 6mm = 11mm)

Longer studs NICE NS312, total length 45mm (10mm longer)

I had to press the studs in as the knurl was 14.2mm instead of 14.1mm.

I may have to lip the gaurds a little, but I have the ride height fairly high for now. The lower control arms are 10mm longer (KE30 ones).

I used a 40mm grommet and made it fit.

Engine bay is sort of finished now. I made the battery clamp. My only concern for rego is that there is no air filters. (And the fact it has a full roll cage, and a different engine etc).

    Camera phone...

    Top water outlet:

This is the first top water outlet I made. There is a brass 90 degree fitting, which is fine, but I may change this. A fitting I made is pressed and sealed into the waterpump. I use the standard AE86 radiator hoses and spring clamps. The alloy outlet is machined to the perfect size of the rad hose.

I started the motor and blew some flames out the throttles. Maybe an epic moment, considering I actually bought the motor off a Jap importer back in 2005? Since I am not using a idle speed motor, I back off the idle speed screws on each of the 4 throttles untill the screw is flush with the surface. It causes some hissing, but it gets the motor to idle and it's better than having the throttles cracked open.

I connected up the evaporative emissions tubes. I am not using the vacuum switch (controlled by the ECU) but just a simple one-way valve and filter. I am not using the little throttle diaphram thing either (which acts to slow down throttle closing speeds to reduce emissions).

So I sort of have both PCV and charcol canister all hooked up. Maybe a AE86DC first?

I still need a cam cover breather, and air filters.

that throttle diaphram isnt just for emissions, its also to allow the engine to breath when the throttle is instantly snapped shut. if you accelerate and decelerate to quickly you could stall the engine.

it will also allow the enigine to run better and feel more responsive with on/off acceleration
