They still hit with the RCA's?

And why brown paint on the LCA's. Surely black is cheaper/better looking

I now have 30mm RCA's, but they would make no difference.

Speaker holes are now covered with a material even lighter than carbon fibre. Plastic corflute.

The head of those studs holding the tie-rod to the LCA are still hitting the steering knuckle and limiting full lock, but only at full droop. With a little load on the struts I can get full lock which is lots of angle, and the tyres are rubbing the chassis rail a little at full lock.

The end of the LCA comes very close, or touches the disc. A little love tap or a file and that's sorted.

Motor was oil and water tight and bone dry, but just noticed a drop from the rear seal. Oh well. It can wait till the box is swapped.

Muffler is 2-1/2" I think, and maybe a bit loud. Will be fine for the track.

I have the wideband sensor screwed into a plug up near the collector, which is better than up the tailpipe. Ready for lots of fine tuning in coming weeks/months. May get the addaptive function working if I have time. Innovate LM-1.

Erratic water temp reading is sometimes triggering the cold rev limit. Short term fix is to raise the cold rev limit and reduce cold fuel correction.

It would be cool to have the laptop mounted for easy use by the driver, with power from the cig lighter. But it's not. Half thinking about getting a double DIN DVD screan with the gauges box from Adaptronic, but it's extra complexity and weight.

Went for a quick hoon up the road, on a section that has been used for Targa Tas. This is a light weight responsive car! I need some better shoes and some heal-toe practice. I will need to dance around a bit to keep this car on song through the bumpy twisty country roads.

In the next few days, roadworthy inspection and rego. More tuning. Wheel alignment etc.

Well done Jonny, awesomely tidy car...

Quick question, how do you propose to get Rego with a full roll cage?? I thought the front legs would be illegal..??
    Regards

The answer is either a blind eye turned here and there or a liberal interpretation of the rego rules. Basically you find an inspector who has some appreciation for racing, keep your car tidy, and don't drift in the city. I guess the main issue is the side intrusion bars. If I run into legal troubles I can cut them out and make them bolt-in. If I get into lots of trouble, it has to be a rally car or special interest vehicle. I'm going for normal rego.

    Default Tuning at track

Someone thought getting rego on a car with a full cage was fit for a photo.

Then it was to the track on the same day for some mild tuning and a few hardish laps.

    Baskerville on a week day.

Havn't done a competition or driven with much aggression yet. Only been pulled over once so far after dignitaries at Government House rang police and complained of a hoon, (I was testing brake bias with the new Tilton valve). Gone through a few tanks of fuel and sorted lots of problems now. Car goes well.

If you want a number it is 93kw at wheels so far. But this does nothing to describe the tune. I have graphs and maps if your interested. Lots of development on the ECU tune now.

Some axle tramp, fitting AJPS traction brackets tomorrow. May go to TRD blue shocks all round also. Feedback on shocks would be good.

Was banned from this forum, for life.

Car was broken into and moved. Alarm now fitted.

Tilton brake bias valve does not seem to offer enough adjustment. More discussion if your interested.

    Best recent improvements:
air and water temp sensors calibrated to display realistic numbers - important
pollished alloy air horns with big lip - feel some difference
tinted glare strip across top of windscrean
ignition timing map developed - big difference in torque
"accelerator pump" setting looked at - important for quad throttle setups.
