you poor fella. real sorry about the car. glad your still alright though.
That's the car at 8:30am this morning. I had taken the wheels apart and pollished them.
With the stuff I had done to the car in the last 2 weeks, it was seriously fast in the hills. I still need more experience with those semi-slick tyres. When a bit warm they just stick. On a light Sprinter there is no squeal or drift, you just stick and go around the corner. Except of course when there is no warm up at all.

CMI Domain Hill climb: more thoughts
During the sighting run I was a little scared because they had spaced the witches hats in a way that would probably not slow me down at all. It was going to be a fast run, but I knew the course well. For my first run I started in 1st gear of course. Apparently I hit the limiter, then into 2nd. 2nd gear the whole way, drove very hard, tyres slipped a little. Then towards the end of the run I came into a sharp corner a bit hard, the tyres would have hooked up if warm, but drifted wide, rear tyres got onto wet grass, rear of car drops into ditch etc... rolled it. Landed on roof.
I never felt any threat to my health, just disapointment for the car.
Roll cage and 6pt harness is awesome. Call Aaron Martin (Azcustom) for welding work in Hobart area.
Car will be rebuilt to the same specs. Either Levin or Trueno not sure yet.
You are all right, that's the main thing. The car will be awesome again. Feel your pain though, wrote the MR2 off a couple of weeks ago.
Glad you are only shaken not stirred rest up and look forward to future rebuild.
de ja vous - I rolled my old 323 almost identically! Came thru a switchback too hot and started to slide, over-corrected into ditch. As one side went down other came up and over felt like it was in slow motion. It was more embarrasing than shocking with cars slowly passing and gawking, while standing waiting for tow truck for over an hour It was bloody cold and windy that night.

glad you're in good nick, shame about the car. best of luck with the next build!
Just had a long break away from AE86's. Been riding the pushbike in a few time trials and century rides.
A spare 86 shell is found. Started stripping out the rolled car. Rollcage will be transfered over, somehow. A few parts are in the post.
nice work jonny...give me a yell if you need anything...ive still got some random bits floating around i wont be using...
MY AE86 BUILD

This was back in 2015, when I had to move my replacement shell from one storage place to the next. Some lean years followed when I quietly collected parts off eBay, but basically nothing happened on the shell.
Also, what format works best for images? How come some images are thumbnails and others are big? I've forgotten if we need our images on the net already or if you just load them from your computer. Does photobucket still work? I'm guessing there is a better place.
(This thread could really kick off... got some progress to show off if your interested).
