    Default lock spacers

hi guys, basic question so i didnt use the template.

how does a lock spacer improve lock?

wouldnt it just give you toe on one side?
cant quite comprehend it so any help is welcome.
    cheers guys.

It increases the length of your rack. Yeah it does add masses of toe in but that's why you adjust the tie rod ends to your desired specs.

I highly reccommend them. Easy to install too.

As Sven-dog said... it increases the length of the rack, you can allow for the toe but adjusting the length of the tie rods/ends

I have a lock spacer, with T3 Super lock knuckles and tie rods/ends with 2 settings, and on the outer hole (Power steering knuckle length) I have huge amounts of lock. One of the best mods you could make IMO. Lock spacer and P/S arms.

Ive since moved them in to the other set of holes (Essentially shortening the knuckle, and even with a fucked alignment, I have super-mega-demon lock.

    yer i get it now,
im setting up my mates front end with lock spacer, sigma LCAs, camberplates, pw/s arms and what not; i wasn't looking hard enough into the actual sizings of the lock spacer,
i realized that there is a machined section that can slide into the rack therefore extending the rack.

im setting up my front end this week with the t3 (2 hole) pw/s arms, jonny's extra lock rack ends on a powersteering front end so ill see how that comes up!
been told that lock spacers cannot be used on pw/s setups but i checked on my car (bcoz my car has pw/s) and the lock spacer did fit, only reason that i can think of lock spacers not being recommended for pw/s setups is because they can over-extend the rack and burst the seals?
anybody care to explain whether im right or wrong?
i asked AJPS a while back and David (forget the name) said simply that they are not for pw/s soo hmmm....

also, ill post pics of the lock of my powersteering front end soon.

With your mates car and the sigma arms, you'll need RA60 celica Tie rods and ends, or adj. rod tubes, because the 86 tie rods and ends dont have enough adjustment.

i took that very setup off my car a month or two ago.

Dunno. Changed it before I drove hard on it. Had revolver coils, P/S Arms, Nobybooth tie rod tubes, RA60 TRE's and 25mm RCA's. I can only imagine it wouldnt perform as well as my current setup.

I have BC Coilovers, Buddyparts 40mm RCA's, T3 knuckle/tie rod/rose-jointed end combo, Buddyparts rose-jointed Adj. LCA's and Lock spacer, Whiteline swaybar and a rebuilt steering rack, and it's brilliant. Was so stoked with how it felt first time out... even with a shitty "9pm the night before racing" eye alignment.

Just need to finish off the rear end and Im good to go.

    my setup is
    t3 adjustable LCA's,
    t3 knuckles,
    t3 tie rods/end,
    cusco camberplates,
    ae86 stock castor kit
some jap coilies with trd greens that appear adjustable?
    jonnys extra lock rack ends,
power steering - which no one seems to run

in the rear ive got t3 traction brackets,
AJPS adjustable panhard and stock 4 links,
havnt drived with any of this yet as i got it all after i blew my diff.
