    Here is a spec list of Keiichi Hot Version Trueno ~2002 (and rough translation) some things have changed since isted.

    Theme of the project:
    To build the AE86 for the next 10 years. (since 1998)
    Continuing upgrades to provide the 10 years with satisfying driving, experience and training for racing.

    Favorite aspects of the car:
    A car that will punish driving errors but rewards skillful execution.
    A car that will be street oriented and comfortable in daily use.
    A car that reminds (Keiichi) of past era of AE86 Group A racing.

    TRD Chassis Development Group (Formerly Chief of AE86 N2 Series construction)

    In 2001 full body disassembly, est. 3500 spot welds! rust and crack repairs, braces/reinforcements added at 22 locations.
    (Increased body rigidity matches that of the DC5 Honda Integra)
    9-stage repainting process in Toyota Super White II exterior/interior, GT500 Supra engine bay gray.

    No Power Steering or Air Conditioning

    AE111 4A-GE 5 Valves per cylinder (20V)
    DLI Ignition with Freedom ECU
    TODA 272in/288ex 20V Camshaft (lift 9.8mm)
    TODA Valves/valve springs
    TODA Pistons 82mm (C.R. 11.3:1)
    20V OEM Injectors 295cc
    TRD Custom exhaust system
    Aluminum 3-Row Radiator
    TRUST/EARL's 13-Row Oil Cooler
    Approx. 175bhp (flywheel)

    At one stage they fitted MX5 racing pistons but the motor didn't like them at all.

    Promptly Upgraded to:
    TODA Forged Pistons C.R. 12:1
    Camshafts:TODA 288/288 (10mm lift) intake/exhaust

    There was even mention of 5AG crank to be fitted... but yet to be confirmed.

    (before the body was restored/repainted and the water lines ran over exhaust)

    Apparently he had his license suspended due to these vids being filmed on public roads...

    You can see why they already called him the Drift King back in 1987! Forgive the thrashed out quality of the vids. No doubt the VHS tapes have been watched a 1000 times before this was hosted! These were some of the original videos to highlight drifting and touge (峠 means mountain pass) runs in Japan.

    (Some clips from youtube have been posted before, but they are imcomplete or have soundtrack taped over them)

    Fellow 86 addict Antonio Alvendia at Motormavens just posted some great shots from his personal stash, when he was in Japan at the 1999 TAS.









    Worth noting that the car wasn't in perfect condition and still needed some refinements. (It had done 80000km's at the projects begining)
