ADM delivered 1983 Levin converted to Kouki Trueno "Saphira"
Weighs in at about 815kg. I'm still thinking of ways to get it down lower.
A bit of background history, it was my first car when I was about 12, I learnt to drive in it, I learnt to drift in it, I learnt to love it, I learnt how to stupidly spend money. I'm 19 now
The worked motor was the very last mod I gave to this car, before that was all suspension/chassis work to be perfectly tuned with a stock bigport 4AGE, which was pretty much on it's way out.
It sees a lot of track time and occasionally a few laps after work.

what power did you make again man?
155hp at the wheels... It's a crap one though, I have no response at all.. It's what you would call a laggy N/A atm.
Everytime I give the throttle a stab to rev match, or even off throttle and back on, it dies and gives a empty puff of air, lame as.
Working on some shit to get it running right.
From the videos, you will hear that it's pretty lazy.
sounds like you should have gone turbo
Taking this to the practise on the 30th?

Interesting what you say about response. I am not really the one to know, but I recon the speed at which the engine returns to idle off throttle would be due to your light flywheel. Go back to a more standard flywheel if you want to retain some torque on and off throttle.
If it dies with throttle imput, then that would be the accelerator pump settings in the ECU? Maybe.
The cams are very big. You would expect low torque if setup for max power, which maybe a 100 / 100 setting. Try lobe centres closer to 110 or 105 for a more even torque spread. Just a guess.
Hey Johnny,
It's definately not a flywheel issue, I think the amount of lightened flywheels with japs and their crazy motors, and the obvious response they are getting, that it shouldn't be the problem (crap theory I know), but the problem isn't it dropping in revs faster, but the fact that when I give the throttle a blip, it's as if the engine dies for a few seconds, and then gets going after I've held the throttle open for a bit.
I think your right on the money with the accelerator pump settings, that's what I'm trying to play around with at the moment to get it running right. I believe this is what's causing all the issues.
I will probably decide to play with lobe settings after I've sorted this out, so that I have a good base to know what to do, cause at this rate, I can't say whether or not I'm happy with it's midrange torque or high end etc, as it really hasn't given me much of a good impression all over the rev range. It's really crap to drive! Imagine not being able to rev match!
I think the problem atm is that, being full TPS, it doesn't have another map for it to refer to once it's off throttle, I'm not a veteran at this either! Quite the n00b infact, but still learning what to do. Another thing I'm trying is to get some vaccuum to use a MAP sensor, but it's proving pretty difficult given the overlap on the large camshafts, should I be succesful it should aid in ease of tuning.

Bleh, turbo is for the weak, I'll sort this out and make sure it does circles around all you forced induction fools. HAHA
Might do, I need to play around with this so that I can take it somewhere for a good tune, it's proving to be quite the challenge, will take it slow this time and not rush for events. No point going back out if it's not running 100%.
great work ken the cars an absolute marvel, hope you can sort your issues for a battle soon
Cheers man! I hope so as well, you'd think after all this time and money that you'd get a decent performer, but instead you have to sink more money and time to get it going right Looking forward to some twin action.
