what ecu are you running with it?
if its a standard 4age one, hook up a check engine light and run the diagnostic.
sounds like its in limp mode to me. which suggests a dead sensor, either map or tps would be my guess.

Hi guys,
I'm having a small drama with my engine. At the end of the last track-day i had a VERY minor power loss at around 6500-7000 revs, didnt think much of it (thought fuel surge)
My car now starts to shit itself/not climb in revs past about 3500, and if it DOES, it hits a pretty fast rev-limiter type thingo.
Driving around normally however it's fine. Just whenever you load it up.
What have i broken.
Thanks
Robo

In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don't.

his being jdm, would/should have a working check engine light. If it were a limp mode issue it would come up while driving.

after a bit of googling, it reckons 02 sensor could be causing it
will report back
Yep we got number 5 (which some sites said doesnt exist!!!) and number 9 (speed sensor .. has never worked)
More googling says "5" is 02 sensor
Random, you selling an exhaust Robo?
it wont be the 02 sensor bro.
sounds more like a bad fuel pump or a blockage.
check the fuel pressure.

as in, the 02 sensor can and often is registering a fault. but. it wont have a profound effect on your engines running like youre experiencing.

should run fine with no o2 sensor..
as slydar said.. check fuel filter, fuel pressure (while driving and revving under load) and fuel pump valtages while running..
couldve run dry a couple of times at your track day and started to kill it..
give it a full load rev when nearly stone cold and see if it cuts out worse than when its hot.. this would indicate possible fuel supply issues
