Default 4age smallport block with blacktop head.

    Haro Everyone,

This may seem like a really silly question to ask but I thought I may as well look into it.

At home I have blacktop head sitting on my floor, if I was to start building the 20v way.

And my mate has a 92 with a spare smallport motor with FWD gearbox and he wants $100 for it, the tappets need reseating on it but other than that I believe it is fine.

I was wondering if I could mate the BT head to the SP block without much modifying? And if not I might use my Bigport head...

If anyone has any ideas on the subject please let me know =)

    Cheers, Ben

theyll work fine. just need to plug the hole in the block and get new pistons. 20v pistons will go straight onto the small port rods.

if you were to run the 16v, keep the small port head. better in every way.

re tappets needed re-setting. just make sure its not a bottom end knock. all 4ages use shims for lash adjustment, and they dont go out of adjustment to easy/often.

simple explanation of above. the "tappet" noise very well might be something else.
