Default Parts for Rear JDM caliper rebuild!

    gday,

    Car: AE86

    Part: JDM Rear Calipers

    Problem: What part Numbers?

I need to get my rear calipers rebuilt, they are off a JDM Kouki ae86. I'm just wondering if there are any avaliable australian parts for the rebuild, and im looking for part numbers aswell. I have taken it to a brake specialist and he is having a looking, but I am gathering someone has done this before and would have part numbers/experience.

    Cheers

    Hayden

Ive got a kit in the garage, just need to confirm it.

Or you can still buy new calipers for about $400each side

I got mine from Power Brakes in Adelaide, walked in off the street and they had them in stock, was the same kit as AE82 I think. I had to guess early or late for my calipers. Was not much, maybe $40.

All you really need is the seals. if you pull them down and go to a bearing and seal place, you can get them for around 10 bucks.

Unless toy are totally rooted, perished, and seized, thats about all you need.

    Cheers.

alternatively...just take them to a proper brake shop.

i took my front jdm calipers to this place near me called "mastercylinder exchange"

they machined up a new piston, sleved it with stainless, and put new seals throughout, even sandblasted it and painted

and only charged me 240bucks for the pair.

these things are all standard sizes, so they just measure it and order the seals. not specific to the caliper, but specific to the caliper design etc.

they dont order a "sprinter disc caliper seal" its a V3456 (example) seal that just happends to fit a sprinter rear caliper.

so bybass your local repco, and go and find a proper brake shop in an industrial estate, plenty of them around.
