    Default 4age Oil filter Mount

    what am i missing? if i get an oil union bolt will the filter seal its self around the ring? or is there a bracket im missing as well a little unsure as manual says with or without oil cooler but is not very descriptive when comes to mounting filter?

    the filter has a rubber O ring on it, and yes it will seal itself. as long as the machined surface is nice and flat you wont have a problem. please remember to lube the two mating surfaces (hehehe) with some oil before tightening the filter onto the thread, otherwise you will have a hard time removing it at the next filter change.

    isn't there a filter mount meant to be therte todd? you blind motherfucker, if it turns out you need the mount i'll send ti your way for free, just pay $10 for postage, i'm not doing anything with it

    dw, turns out what i have is for an oil cooler or some shit?

    edit* ok now i'm jsut real confused? my smallport doesn't have that bit, but, the bit doesn't have any sorta outlet for an oil cooler.... anyone care to explain. the bit i'm referring to is off a bigport

    hey buddy, was going to PM this to you, but may help others so:



    i got mine from CMI toyota on waymouth st in the city. although i got the extended one that fits the oil cooler type, but the one i have shown is if you arent running it.

    BTW i have the oil cooer plate and adaptor here that i dont want anymore if you are interested

    edit, just so you know, the part number you need is 90404-19001

    i was just confused to wether the bracket was necessary or not. but obviously not

    i presumed the OP was already getting the union bolt (which he mentions in the first post, but is obviously not there in the photo) which is all you need to mount the filter.

    also what is the hole down the bottom of my sump? should there be a sensor? or jus plug it?
