Anything completely mineral
Most will be around the 10W40 mark too, which is spot on
Once you've run it in you can go back to full/part synthetic oils
Hi guys,
Well now I got my oil leak fixed, need to put some oil back in her.
Whats the best oil to use on a rebuilt 16V 4age (NA)?
Cheers,
Chris.

if its freshly rebuilt (first start ect) there is proper running in oil.
use this for the first 500ks.
then as toxin said, go to a normal mineral oil, and new filter.
then once thats done. use the best oil you can afford.
all spot on and remember not to flog it until you have run it in
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
or ignore that and flog the shit out of it as has been discussed many times
babying an engine is the worst thing you can do to it when running it in.

^what he said, make sure you rev the shit out of it haha. it sounds wrong but it's what ya really meant to do,
sorta. its not that simple.
youre meant to drive the car under load and vary the rpm.. all the way up to about 80% of red line. not just free rev.
I tottaly agree with the comment above,
as for the oil I have been told that using coles/safeway type oil is a good bet
