The conversion:
Well after a long while of procrastinating and generally being damn lazy, I've finally decided to post up pics of the my car as it is now
After having my car for over 3 years now, it was till this year that I managed to gather enuf funds for an engine conversion. Thus finding myself a low km (~77,000km) JDM RWD 4A-GE with gearbox and complete loom for ~$1500 locally, I was quick to snatch it up
Having not done an engine conversion myself, I was rather scared of the proceedings, but once started, everything came together rather well and easy.
Below are some of the pics I took during the process of my car's tranformation

<--- The old 4A-C donk
<--- The new heart!!!
<--- Out she comes.
<--- Something's missing O_o
<--- Time of death, 338,848km!
<--- The old clutch line that needs replacing.
<--- Cus it's a RWD JDM 4A-GE, it came with a JDM T-50...so I swapped over the bellhousings with my ADM one, so I didnt have to find a new clutch slave and re-do my clutch lines
<--- A complete second-hand exhaust I picked up very cheap!!! Was from a 4A-GE AE86 too
<--- The old T-50...better clean it up before selling
<--- Hmm, seems rather dirty O_o
<--- All clean for the new engine!
<--- All ready for it's new home.
<--- In she goes...
<--- It's found its new home
<--- R.I.P. little 4A-C
<--- 4A-GE, who's your daddy!
<--- w00t! Shiny new air intake and filter
<--- Hmm...time to do the fuel system.
<--- Looks a tad bit beefy now O_o
<--- External fuel pump sits rather comfortably.
<--- Wiring it up...
<--- I now have an ECU!
<--- Installed shiny new strut brace. NOW ALL DONE!!!
Well that's it for my conversion process. It all went rather well IMO. It only took about 10 days for the whole conversion over a sum of 5 weeks (only working on weekends and most of the time hungover ). All and all, it was a good learning experience. Being rahter a novice to the mechanics of cars, I learned a lot form the process. The entire conversion was done by me and a couple of friends that helped along the way. Cheers guys, you know who you are
Anyways, that was all done like 2 months ago, and as of then, it's been a small chore making it all neat and tidy. There have been no major dramas since the conversion, as it has been very reliable, except that its eating more fuel than it should Other than that, the engine is a winnah, and I LOVES IT!!!
In the first post are some updated pics of what the engine bay now looks like as well as some small new features and specs of the car.
Hope ya like it ^_^
Aight, so I converted to an electric fan a while ago, but haven't bothered to post up pics. Then tody I decided to change my fan again to a more quieter one.
So here are some pics of both processes.
*click images to see larger version*
...Stage 1
Removed clutch fan..
Find electric fan at the wreckers. I think this one was out of a Ford Laser, I can't remember atm...
Mount the sucker!
The on/off switch..
Then its all done! Thought eh setup was a success, the fan was really noisy and it got really annoying
...Stage 2
Remove old noisy fan
The new fan. I was told this was an AE92 fan. New mounting tabs were made...
Mounted with success..
Another angle...
Well the whole thing was a great success. The new fan is a lot quieter, and is barely noticable over the engine and exhaust.
Big thanks go out to Matt for helping me install the first one and wiring it all up for me. Also big thanks go out to Andrew for lending me the new fan for now ^_^
Next up on the list, new water pump!!!
(It's already been ordered, so hopefully this week)
Well another rather productive AE86 day today again
I made myself a radiator shroud to direct more air towards the radiator as well as a heat shield for my distributor.
Here are my pics of today labour...

The radiator shourd I made
The distributor heat shield
All that needs to be done now is to clean them up and probably paint them or polish them. ATM still undecided.
YAY, GO ME!!!
Hey new update
Painted valve covers a week ago, but only got photos up today.
Here's how they ended up:

All covers pained up with fresh paint
After having letters shaved and the final product
In the end they ended up pretty nice and I'm happy wid the whole little project. Id suggest everyone to do them, they're easy to do and make ya engine bay look soo much better
