in qld, no, there is a separate inspection that must be done first before you get your rwc to re register a written off vehicle. and there is only 2 inspection stations. 1 in bris, 1 at the gc, and there is a decent wait.. it sux.
HOLY SHIT $470 to get VIV inspection thats disgusting
The car was never recorded as a write off though Albert, so your sweet.
hmm... who paid for it then?

dont know about your rules. but in nsw there is no record.
my charade was written off and i purchised it back off the insurance company, fixed it and drove it.
only a statutary write off cannot be registered again.
all a write off is, when the damage of the vehicle is worth more than the vehicle. doesnt mean the owner cant fix it cheaper.
just because a panel beater says the car is a write off doesnt mean the car is fucked.
Really? My sister bought a repairable (economic) write off and once it was recorded as a write off by the insurance company the RTA saw it as written off as well.
All we had to do was get a Blue Slip done after it was repaired and it was reregistered with no dramas
course out if right. if an insurance company deems a car a write off they notify vicroads/rta etc etc that the car is a write off. stat write offs cannot be reinsured or reregod.. but economic writeoffs can be... albert, simply call vicroads and give them the rego/vin/chassis of the car and they will tell u what u need to do?
