    They could be,
but there is no way in hell i would reverse a wheel with that much +ve offset.
    awesomely unsafe

I can see how they might be funny looking, stick out too far, and quite possibly illegal with that much offset, but why unsafe? Or do you just mean unsafe in how far they'd stick out?

dont look like they'd be that safe if reversed... also is there a buckle in one of them in the pic on the right???
    Insert witty comment here....

But WHY do they look like they'd be unsafe? From my thinking, you've still got the exact same amount of weight on the exact same spot in the rim... from a pure physics standpoint, the wheel wouldn't even know that it'd been reversed, if you get what I mean.

But again, if it's just a matter of them sticking out too far, making them unsafe... that I'll buy. And yeah, there is a bit of a buckle in one wheel it looks like.

The wheel might not know, but the wheel bearing will. You may hear its screams of protest as it collapses under the load. Think levers. The more negative you go, the more wheel vibration you'll get too - unless you're willing to clip weights to the outside.

way too much stress on the bearing and the wheel. By the looks of it you'd have about 2inch on the inside and at least 4 on the outside.
This means all of the wieght of that side of the car will be on the inside of the wheel. Vary dangerous.
It a differant story with positive offset.
With negative offset the rim is always near 50 50 on both sides of the center or more to the positive offset.
you will understand when you put the reversed wheel on and see just how little of the breaks are in the wheel.
    Hope this helps.
