Default Tas Ae86's - Trueno Track/Drift Car Build

Hey, Iv been a member for a while but havn't posted anything yet. So here is my first post. I've owned the car for over a year but have only started getting into things now I have my own shed.

It is 1983 ADM Sprinter that came with the trueno front, a 18R-Geu injected celica engine, the initial d sticker lol, and thats about it. I drove round my driveway twice then pulled the engine out and sold it.

I then bought a CA18det off a friend and started putting that in...

I then had a think about what I was doing and decided to do it right the first time and build what I really wanted, so..... I pulled the CA out and then got a SR while stripping the shell bare. Yeah yeah no datsun jokes please.....

Engine mounts to suit SR done by Tas Mobile Mechanics

At the moment i have sourced:

S14 Series 2 Auto Sr20det, so the motor is pretty mint
    Ca18 Gearbox with Sr20 bellhousing
    Exedy HD Button Clutch
Kelway Steampipe low mounted, external gate manifold
    Tial 38mm external gate
    Larger winged sump
    Alloy Radiator
    Equal length rear box sections
    FD Brake Calipers
Mini Cooper 294mm DBA 4000 front rotors
HSD Sleeve Kit with 8kg front springs
    Selby's front and rear swaybars
Tas Mobile Mechanics (Tasmania Garage) Engine mounts
Bias Adjustable pedal box, with race click dash adjuster
    Hydro Handbrake assembly without handle

    and currently waiting on:
    Bilstein front and rear shocks
    Cusco camber tops
    40mm RCA's
    Adjustable Rear spring platforms
    Urethane Rack Bushes
Tie rod ends and Ball joints
    25mm front guards

Here is also some pics of my current car I'm going to keep driving until the 86 is built:

got heaps more to buy and do so I will keep this updated from now

    Cheers Brodie

Nah, i don't mind cheers mate

I did a bit of work mounting the engine up today, the sump was hitting on one of the rack bush mounts so me and my dad milled it out and welded a box section in to give clearance. I also made some engine mounts out of some longboard wheels, because they are the same durometer as race engine mounts (85A) . Now just need to find where to buy blocks of urethane so i can make the gearbox x-member.

Yep, there longboard wheels lol.... Live in the easternshore. Reason you havn't seen it before is the guy I bought it off got it from NSW and never got it running right so has never been rego'ed in Tas.
