lol, sikaflex them in. its pretty common with cars around this age, the old seal is usually corroded and needs to be fixed. sika flex or sillicone aroudn them will sort out any problems you have.
Hi, I need some advice here.
I found my Hachi has water leak into the rear & flood spare tire room. I just got my body paint fixed, rusts are gone & I already made sure there are no holes anymore. So, I traced down to where water came from I ended up at Taillights.
This is what I just realized: my taillights do not have any rubber seal, so water could leak through it.
- Does anyone ever experience water leak like this? (I might be wrong with the seal)
- Any recommendation for alternative solutions apart from fill up with silicons?
- New Rubber only comes with a new set of taillight, isnt it?
Thanks,

Water most definitely will leak in around there. The seals on mine were perished, so I used a roll of foam tape from Clarke Rubber to create new seals. Advantage is, when you want to remove them again, they're not glued in with silicone.
What 86coupe said, they use foam from factory so why use silicone. You can also get the stuff from bunnings, cost me like $5 for 3m
That said, im pretty sure you can get new seals from toyota, its called a tail light gasket from memory (yahoo japan has them brand new sometimes).

Thanks guys, probably foam tape is a right option for me at a moment, I never thought of it...!!!
just use some black silicon stuff.. when you want to take them lights out again they will come out its not like their stuck in.
Foam tape will always leak I find
