Tomorrow i'll be in the market for a fairly "top end" Laptop.
I've used Acer's forever. I am a fan of the Asus brand, but there are others out there like HP & Toshiba.
Looking for some feedback before I make the splash.
Cheers

toshiba and sony are the best quality IMHO
Asus is a great brand that has grown A LOT... i live in japan and the most popular is toshiba.
it different at different places tho. but EVERY person from china i know loves Asus. and in my time in korea, well, laptops samseung is used a lot, but i hardly consider it any good.
i wouldnt even use a Compaq for a paperweght.... u wouldnt believe the expeierience i have had witht hat idiot company.
story goes... TK buys new compaq, within 3 weeks it caught on fire due to their fauly. i send it back under warrenty and they tell me yes we understand u need laptop, back in 2 weeks max of 3.... fuckin 9 weeks later i get it back... some how they caused these problems...
different motherboard that cant run my HDD properly (either that or the fucked the cables too lol)
they managed to rip four keys out of my keyboard. (B, V, G, H)
my space bar was held in on 1 side
they cracked my screen.
fucking idiot mob if u ask me. shit customer service, as i would expect from an american owned company.
i taken the HDD out of the PC, and smashed it in the harvey norman carpark, everyone thought i smashed a brand new laptop for fun LMFAO. that was years ago when my life wasnt as dependant on a PC. nowdays i cant go without a PC, so my last 4 laptops have been top of the range toshibas, had no problems at all.

lol at white people in japan. just lol.
im a bit of a dell fan when it comes to laptops, their upper range, latitude, are pretty decent. and they look good too.
the latitude is like their business range. not cheap though.
also i hear dell are very good with aftermarket support, mate of mine deals with them alot (he is the IT bloke at a high school).
i have a dell from 2004 (top of the line back then) and it still goes strong, use it every day at uni, i just had to buy some new hinges for the screen.
depends how much you want to spend?

Asus wasnt bad.
Acer are shit.
wouldn't you be better off looking at spec? no matter how reputable a brand is if it's got shitty specs it won't run well...
Asus, sony.

toshiba, i have had around 5 or 6 of them, and all of them still work faultlessly and all get abused at uni and in my back pack on my motoribke and stuff.
