Default Handbrake cables - T series Vs S series?

    Ahoy there.
Just recently got my T series DRUM all bolted up.

Last two things to do are bleed brakes and adjust handbrake STOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! the handbrake cables are epic long?

I was led to believe that this setup was working fine in a ke70 before i bought it, but cant see HOW!

    Solutions?

    Car - AE86 ADM

    motor - 4ag

    use - Dori

problem - T series DRUM handbrake cables too long

occurs/started when - i put the T series DRUM in

    personal situation - Always poor

    cheers guys

I can tighten it all the way, and pull the hb lever to vertical and its still not grabbing at all

if they are stretched (or even can stretch) that much then i am pissed off that it wasn't mentioned when sold to me!

but i honestly thing they are just wayy to long. to put u number on it maybe 80mm+?

just to get the stupid questions out of the way... the brake system doesnt have to be bled for the hand brake to work yeh? because the hb is PHYSICAL only?

    this is frustrating

Possibly they are designed to go around/through a pulley/guide somewhere in the system to take up some of the slack?

yeah sounds strange being 80mm longer... i don't think they would stretch that much, so it seems that they are the wrong type of cable. not sure about the bleeding part but doubt it very much from personal experience with no brakes and getting it down to the mechanics the handbrake was godlike.

It solves my immediate problem yes,

but doesn't solve the actual issue: are T series cables longer than S series, or did i get JIBBED (for others that may or may not snag the same issue)

its not the funnest job to "just use the s series cable" once ive laboured for half a day putting it all in to find out its wrong.

i've done two t series swaps, one into an ae86 a few years back and another into a ae71 a month or two ago.
I can't remember for certain but im pretty sure i left the s series cables in when i did the ae86, and im 100% certain i kept the original borgy cables in the ae71, though they were only 2 or 3 mm from being too short.
