    Default airbox for quads.

just tossing a few ideas around as to how i am going to enclose my quads.

was going to make a fibreglass airbox and then use the standard jdm air box to keep it looking standard.

anyone got any pics/ideas for me.

being beams i dont have alot of room.

but the cops are really cracking down and i want to get something sorted, so i can get the thing engineered.

same boat here roids - I am planning on making a fiberglass plenum for my quads also, basic plan is to get a rectangle 10mm alloy plate machined up to run across the face of the quads with all the openings machined correctly and then build a mold off it with floral foam and then gets to glassing.... haven't worked out exactly how I will attach the 2 together yet as I have a few ideas on how to go about it....

The thing I need is a 100% accurate template of the the quads to take to a machinist to get the alloy cut.

do it simple brad. flat mount section "stuck" onto the manifold carved out of styrofoam block. then carve it down to the shape you got to work with.

mould it and then glas it in two bits, should be able to rape an old air filter box for those lever clip things for the join.

sounds soooo easy in my head

let me know ho you go

my nobybooth plenum should arrive within the week, early next week...comes with a template for the ae101/111 throttle spacing...

something i remeber nizlah being after...will possibly get a few photocopies...should be able to hook u up...

does the spacing remain the same using glenns adapator on a 3s??

nobybooth plenums have 2 pieces just as nizlah has described...the plate on the throttle side has 2 threaded holes...the moulded piece has bolt holes for 2 quite long bolts to pass thru the chamber and screw into the base plate...surely not the most ideal method...but i couldnt really help myself...its quite a sexual piece...

but not a problem at all, hoping they still come with the template...would make thing easier...but definitely happy to run off a photo copy and help some peeps out...

the spacing of 1-2 and 3-4 is the same, but the gap between 2 and 3 is bigger.

all my stuff SOUNDS easy brad... you know that

Yeah I was thinking of using the same method as the nobybooth one to secure both parts together but have a few other ideas I want to toy around with also that might be better for my application, I have to start making it so I don't have to try and visualize shit lol.....
